Doesn't really bother me as I toss the tins upon opening and jar the tobacco. Duane, don’t rain on our parade. I like the fancy jar decals.

I have a weakness for tin art that depicts a sailing ship. Those are the tins I save.

I recently bought a pair of Gawith tins from a UK vendor and they had a novel solution to the very nation-specific warnings for the UK, with the full color photos and stuff
Each tin was wrapped in a box with graphic warnings!
So you have an outer paper box, with graphic warnings (in my case, a picture of a sad man looking at his impotent genitals), and then a totally ordinary, un-molested tin lying inside

OK, I'm not terribly clued up on most things, but something happened there that didn't appear to be in the spirit of the forum.
Can we please keep things civil and away from politically emotive subjects?
Many thanks.

However, I think the tins have to come from the supplier dressed in gratuitous pictures of smoking-related illnesses. I wonder was the tin you purchased an old stock and that was their way of 'complying' with EU legislation.

Mac Baren UK packaging uses a similar strategy. A lot of the old flakes came in “pouches,” but Mac Baren has never done pouches. the Uk products come in a pouch with the prescribed packaging, then there is a small foil-sealed plastic “tin” inside that contains the flake.

If it's coming from Gawith themselves then my guess was wrong. Go them!

Coming from a scientific point of view, I wouldn't be bothered about the warnings on tins of they're was any evidence that they actually served a purpose. If the goal is to reduce the incidence of disease, then show me evidence that warning panels on pipe tobacco actually is effective.
I am not a romantic. Smoking a pipe is not a healthy activity. It comes with a quantifiable risk. I am ok with that, to me the risk is worth the pleasure I get from smoking.

If the goal is to reduce the incidence of disease, then show me evidence that warning panels on pipe tobacco actually is effective. Well, tobacco sales generally go down after more intrusive warnings are added to the package. Whether that dip in sales is caused by a loss of branded are, or effective warnings, or just annoyance, we cannot say
I imagine that all the impositions on pipe tobacco tin art are just collateral damage, the same as with taxes. Cigarette makers want to slip through any loophole they can, and often the solution is to sell loose cigarette as "pipe tobacco." Our little hobby is just a bunch of accidental targets for the regulators, victims of the jerks who mislabel products on purpose.
