I post this to help those here whose pockets might not be so deep. Trusting you all will not throw too many stones my way 😁, my hope is that this message will be seen in the spirit it is given to help my fellow pipe smoker's budgets.
Pipes and Cigars are now promoting their customer appreciation week. Some sales are for a day (extra 15% off this past Monday) others are through the week,like $7.99 on a selection of Dunhill tins. Concerning the latter I have noticed online stores appear to be running out of stock as forewarned, meaning the end of Dunhill tobaccos is close at hand. So far I have heard no news to suggest the label will be saved or the blends repackaged in some form. This might be the last chance to grab a few tins at great prices.
PS Peter Stokkebye's tobaccos are 25% off for the entire month of August;A sale which also includes Lane 1lb bags @ $25.00 and Sutliff Tobacco @ 15% off.

Hey, if they honour it and ship without any issues it's a great deal.
From what I've heard, I would it would be nice if they appreciated their customers for the other 51 weeks of the year.

I am a newbie to this forum and as such I know my request is premature and highly unlikely to generate the slightest consideration. However, I wonder how many folks would consider changing the forum name to "The Days of Our Lives 😁". Before you reply and hit the button enraged at the implications, please ask yourself am I leaning towards being one of "those" pipe smokers😁?
I post on other forums about Escoterica, Germaine (or these days SG) finds,tobacco discounts at Smoking Pipes, CupOJoes,Tobacco Pipes ,Pipes & Cigars etc. and get a few grumpy (mostly funny) replies. Yet most are grateful or at the very least appreciative that someone let them know when sales are available (The Escoterica guys run like hell to the web page). Here I get more of the grumpy pipe smokers, jaded, weary, conspiratorial,drama.. 😁.
I think I will have fun poking the bears in this group.....So drama kings be ready😁.

PS Two days sale refers to 15% off or Dunhill?

In all seriousness, outside P&C's great computer disaster,I never had trouble with P&C; Customer service has been good, shipping adequate (I am not a fan of the packaging and can understand how troubles can occur.),sales can be incredible, though sometimes their stocking issues are a bit frustrating. As to the sale part, I picked up two 1.5lbs boxes of PS Luxury Bullseye for 40% off. A 1.5 lb box cost me around $35.00 (~$58.00 originally). This was done by being patient to wait and increase the overall discount by combining sales (25% off P.S. tobaccos for the month of August & 15% off site wide (some exclusions) for a day or two).
Yes, here and at other forums,you will find those who will not buy from P&C. However I will be brave enough to stand against the tide and say...
P&C may not be close to the best shop online or elsewhere but the sales and the customer service, I have received, have been solid. If you have any troubles call or write customer service,be patient and things should be ok. Even so bottom line, the sales keep me coming back....as unemployment hurts....It really does... Ouch bit me again....
PS.Time for conspiracy tidbit... Cigars International. Cigarbid, Cigar and Pipes & Cigars are all owned by the same company STG.. Commence throwing rocks!!!😁

Others are happy to keep petting the beast in the hope that there will be some good days and belly rubs.

P&C would have to hand deliver my order, not get paid until my satisfaction. Plus a great body message from a beautiful woman which includes a happy ending. That’s the only way I’d ever trust them again.....😝😜😂

It is my understanding that a number of tobacco production facilities (especially smaller (small compared to Lane etc.) pipe tobacco producers like the Standard Tobacco Company of Pennsylvania) typically do not keep huge inventories of product. As such items are not always ready to ship to their retailers upon request. Retailers have to wait until pipe tobacco production is finished. This can take different amounts of time depending on the blend's requirements. A bit of research (articles,books,videos etc ) into pipe tobacco production can help one gain a bit of understanding of this process. Further of all the retailers P&C would probably get first shot at restocking (If all the retailers shelves are empty I would wait there.) Warhorse and related tobaccos as Standard Tobacco Company of Pennsylvania, P&C and Russ have a close relationship. Russ,who works at P&C,researched and experimented with different tobaccos to unearth the original formulas (or something close to it 😁) for older brands/blends like John Cotton, Bengal Slices,Four Squares, Warhorse etc and reintroduced them to the market through the Standard Tobacco Company of Pennsylvania. There are also rumors that the Standard Tobacco Company of Pennsylvania will stop production sooner than later in anticipation of the FDA's actions. So who knows,if the above is true, how this might affect production? Now if one bought the item and then P&C said sorry it is no longer available that would be a bit more upsetting. Personally I would probably let it go the first time. If I wanted the item sooner, I would cancel the P&C order and purchase from a different retailer. www.tobaccopipes.com/war-horse-bar-plug-pipe-tobacco/Problem solved without drama or concern... With that said I miss the days before P&C was purchased by the CI group. |

Since then I am just waiting to get my stuff from them and then it is sayonara...goodbye, adios, go efe yourselves as I am finished as in finito. Was told by a gentleman member here who would be in the know and he contacted Russ who told him that they had a shipping order in hand and it would be this week. Today is Saturday and still not in stock according to the website. Still pissed. |
