What do you use to cut your plugs? These are my two favorite cutting plug tools:

I don't have any plugs. I need to rectify that. If I was to use a knife it would be my regular kitchen knife.

What are plugs ? newbie here Fair question. Plugs are like flakes, but in bulk. Think of loads of tobacco pressed together into a brownie. That's a plug... Concentrated tobacco. You slice off bits like carving a roast beef and then you further cut to load into your pipe. Check out Revor plug or peterson 3p.

Yeah, the whole leaves are pressed into a block making a very dense plug tobacco, in the old days plug tobacco was often used for chew. That pressure along with time in a controlled environment allow the different tobacco’s to meld and marry together.
Crumble cake is somewhat similarly processed, except with pre cut tobacco, and the name describes how it crumbles apart as you use it.
I typically use my Gerber automatic knife, the serrated edge works good at shredding off pieces.
Devote plug isn’t generally available in the US, jackknife plug comes on the shelves though.

Wire Cutters? I guess it depends upon what kind of plug that you're cutting!

My Fantasy Sword would also work well👌👍👍 Sweet blade. Love the angles you cut on the blade. Thanks Walt, the full handle I made from dead maple tree root. Hand cut and filed full brass guard. The pommel is made up of highly polished Golden Tigers eye stones, added two on each side of the brass guard. Directly behind the brass guard is where the balance point is located. The grind on this sword I decided to create a deep belly clip point. The upper portion of the clip point blade has a super sharp edge. Looks much better in hand👍👍👍

Less than $10, spring assisted, heavy and durable. And like all my knifes, kitchen and sport, is leather stropped and can push cut.

Lost it of course (actually it was stolen, but I can't prove it). The handles were made from the skeleton of a particular cactus found in AZ with iron wood against the steel tang and the cactus on top. He also cut the brass down on both sides of the old Buck 410 folder...was sweet. Lost that in a movie theater. Boy, was I pissed.

My Ulu knife and bowl really works well for me. I can shave paper thin flakes easily. Oh, and it dices veggies too.
