Is it only me, or does anyone else have multiple cans (> 5) in the cellar that they never have even tried? Bought sight unseen after reading some reviews? I have a couple people I listen to that seem to closely reflect my pallet, so I listen to them. 90% of what I like is Virginia based stuff.
I have a couple:
F&T Cut VA Plug Pease Union Square C&D Opening Nights
These seem to be no brainers that I invested in sight unseen. Going to keep fingers crossed that it ages as well.

I've got several Orlik tins that I've never tried, just sitting there getting some age.

I would say I have a few from C&D tinned that need a few more years of aging. Plus a number of red Virginia blends I can not enjoy with at least 5 + years of aging, otherwise bites my tongue severely for some odd reason?!?!?! Same with some McC blends.
PS I definitely prefer Burley forward blends due to the fact that a young Virginia blend tends to bite....its most likely a Ph issue.

I don't cellar too much but that's due to lack of funds mostly.
For instance, my boss gave me a $100 bonus for labor day weekend and I'm currently trying to figure out how much of it I can spend on tobacco vs. extra groceries or something for the house in general before I'm overcome with guilt.
I also don't buy many tins. Almost everything I buy is available in bulk.

I have about ten tins untested, including a few McClelland blends. I'm saving them for retirement.

Comoy’s and Newminster as well, you won’t be disappointed.

You're not alone. I'd say at least a dozen or so for me. A couple of the McC's Oriental mixtures, Rattray blends, CPCC blends, various Astleys, etc.

10 tins of MCClelland 40th Anniversary. I hope it meets the hype. Mark, I smoked the 40th Anniversary blend with about 2 months of aging....it was really GOOD👌👍👍 I immediately purchased a number of tins for aging, I see this blend becoming extraordinary with about 5 years of aging. I don’t use the word “ extraordinary “ often when describing a tobacco blend. Either I’ll be smoking it or Steve Fallon will be selling it....what more can I say!

C&D Belmont Station and also Dreams of Kadath are brilliant blends for me. I actually just spent about an hour prepping a tin of Kadath and jarring it earlier today.

That's when I normally crack a well aged tin of Christmas Cheer. Both history now so they're interchangeable.

Not exactly, but I'm odd in that almost everything in my cellar is something I've never tried. I have a a few open tins, a bunch of jars, samples in baggies... and they are almost all different from the 100-something tins I have. What can I say, I'm multi-curious when it comes to tobacco.

Years ago, before I retired, I had more disposable income and that happened often. Nowdays, I have less disposable income so what I buy, I smoke! I do have a small cellar, so what ever is not for that, I smoke !

I buy a different tobacco every month, but I open it each month. So I have a few tins accumulated (maybe about 15) but all of them have been opened. I can't not open a tin. I have to sample the tobacco inside.

Dang I never should’ve looked. I figure I smoke around 10 bowls a week. So if I opened a tin that I’ve never had and finished it before trying the next one. I’m goog for about 2 years. I blame all of you! LOL

I try everything the day I have it in my hands. I am, however, guilty of buying several tins at a time of a new blend. I don't like running out of stuff, and tobacco is cheap. If I'm gonna buy one, I'mma probably buy five. There are a few things I probably won't smoke to the end of my stock, unless I live to be 100:
- Stonehenge flake -- It's OK, but I have like, eight tins. And I have smoked less than one tin this year.
- James Gawith Summer Flake -- again, criminally OK. It's not bad. At all. It's quite satisfactory. But I have a bunch of other straight VAs that are as good or better.

No... That is a common phrase gun owners say on open forums... just a tactical decision on my part when the tobacco grabbers come.

I do have some tins of 5 or more cellared away that I haven’t smoked but most of what I have cellared is a known blend.

I read a bunch of reviews and lists. The amount of knowledge around here is deep.
Have noticed of the years that several "old timers" lists, their top 5 is basically my top 5. So...i am ASSuming that I will like what they like as well. Hence the reason I go deep on some blends sight unseen.

I'm pretty sure that Jimlinks, Pipestud and Sables are not going to get any Christmas cards from my wife. I blame all 3 of them on a regular basis.
