I would just add that Joe Fabian is a delightful person to meet, he has attended our past pipe club meetings, and for being a young whippersnapper he is very knowledgeable on pipes and tobacco's.

I should be there, to observe and take notes. I dunno, sounds like the fox watching the henhouse.

It's looking good for me to be there. Hope you can come. I have a year old burley blend for you to try. Also need to pick your brain for sources and types of whole leaf.

All I will say those of you who couldn't make it. You missed a very informative night.
Keep you eyes open and your ears to the ground for the announcement for the next gathering. From what I understand there is some interesting ideas in the wind for this event.

Indeed, it was a great night with a wealth of knowledge from Paul Buza and Joe Fabian...it looks like we are headed towards having bi-monthly meetings spaced a couple weeks apart...continue with the second Saturday of the month and have a Wednesday night maybe on the third or fourth Wednesday of the month.
Stayed Tuned!

Stayed Tuned! Tell me a bit about Paul Buza please. I ask because many years ago I smoked a blend called “Buzas Victorian”. I never knew who Buza was. Is this the guy?

Thanks to Paul Buza for hosting! And, thanks to Joe Fabian of Laudisi for the gifts of tobacco and swag (Hey, someone got a cool Kirbi lighter!) This was an educational night for me from the host and the attendees. All are welcome in the future.

I don’t use Facebook, but I did dig a tin out and answer my own question. Victorian was made by McClelland for the Tinderbox in Mesa Arizona. You locals are lucky to have a guy like that in your club. He must be a fount of knowledge.

When Tinderbox closed its doors, Paul bought boatloads of McClelland blends that are household names along with some rare long forgotten McC blends... he has 500 pipes or so, I think he blasted past the TAD/PAD disorder long ago.

Really sorry I wasn't able to make it, but such is life.
Looking forward to the possibility of an evening of pipe smoking with the club.

In my 3 wishes thread I should add this - one of my ambitions is to attend one of your meetings so I can properly chat with my friends from the forum.

Get some Irish shorts then...the flag might be sacrilegious, but cloverpants might work. Seriously, it would be pretty cool if you can make the trip someday, we would love to have you and the missus.

Thanks. If I EVER get to go to the USA for a road-trip or something like that, I will definitely try to arrange it around when and where you meet.

I have always enjoyed your insight, conversation, and stories. And, of course, a nice bowl to top everything off!
