John Brandt at Wilke will give you a free sample, within reason. Placing an order is a big help. I've never heard of Wilke.. I'll check them out. Of course if you're wishing for whatever, free tobacco is great, but within a reasonable wish, I'd be happy being able to sample a little bit of everything! I like how they keep all your information on hand. You can just call up, give your name, give your order and "OK, we'll get it out today." It's very personal, and it makes you feel like a valued customer. It's a lost art today. About half of my non-insubstantial cellar is Wilke. I NEVER have been disappointed, and they can direct you to your new perfect tobacco. It's like having a tobacco concierge. Yeah, I'm a fan.

Penzaholic - number 3 is a fine wish! ben888 - I'm with you on that one. I hate smoking in my garage so I do it very infrequently. monbla256 - Hahahaha If I was to add another one - one that I thought of reading another thread - it would be that I would LOVE to attend one or two of the pipe club meetings that members of this fine establishment frequent. It would be brilliant to meet you all in person in a big Briar Patch get-together.

1. Acquire 200 lbs of Penzance 2. Own that WO Larsen pipe that sold for $1700.00 on Briar Blues site 3. Inherit the collection of pipes that bambooshank owns. Who could argue with this? Certainly not me! 200 pounds isnโt enough. If I smoke 4 bowls a day, at 3 grams a bowl, that comes to 9.77 lbs/year. Thatโs if my calculations are correct. That seems low. If I need 9.77 lbs,, 200 lbs would only last 20.5 years. I will be 44 in December. I currently have 41 pounds cellared. If I live (at least) another 31 years, Iโm going to need another 302 pounds. Does anyone know if my calculations are correct?

I get 9.65 lbs per year. 3 g is a heavy load in a standard group 4 pipe. I usually use 2.7g for a pipe load, but I pack very light. I've seen 2.8g as a pretty standard figure for a load of baccy.

Thanks - three grams is probably high. But then again many days Iโll smoke 5 or 6 bowls. So 3 grams is probably a good number to use.

I've tried weighing my loaded and unloaded pipes and usually the tobacco weight is like 2g or less. I may need larger pipes or a harder pack but I agree that 3g does seem high.

1. All blends/brands have availability world wide. 2. More aromatics tasted like they smelt 3. Syrian Latakia would come back and never leave again

"30? Getting old? Really? Let me tell you about "old"... lol..." I have socks older than that!
3 wishes...1. Own an RonD pipe 2. Own a 1943 Dunhill pipe that smokes as good as it looks. 3. Own a RonD pipe.
Yeah, 1 and 3 are the same...but he makes some incredible pipes! I've only seen a couple of '43 Dunhill pipes and from that era they were pretty good pipes. Maybe a '43 Comoy Blue Riband instead. Their pipes back then and up until the 70's were outstanding briar pipes. Or a great early year Barling like Sablebrush has. But it wouldn't replace 1 or 3.

Yo Ted, do you have a generator? I got one several years back and when we lost power for 9 days, mine ran the refrig, A/C, computer, modum, lights and stove (gas). Ran it 12 hours a day and have never regretted getting it. If you are in a storm prone area, it is a must have item.

1 - FDA deeming regulations revoked 2 - McClellands back in business which also means highest quality leaf being available again 3 - Allow a business owner to decide for themselves whether to allow an indoor smoking area.

Hmm, pipe related eh!
Well, I reckon #1 to be able to make Perfect pipes.
#2 To make 6 figures a year doing it.
#3 To have an endless supply of ALL the tobaccos I love in my cellar.

I have but one pipe related wish. I wish I lived in a climate that would allow me to smoke a pipe year around. Amen to that. It is getting cold outside and there is no smoking allowed in my house.

Three wishes?
1 My wife's breathing issues would go away, so she could enjoy smoking a pipe with me.
2 Aromatics would taste like they smell and not wear out over the years.
3 Pipe smoking would once again become common and socially acceptable.

May be easier for him then he thinks....... As poor as I am these days, it would have to be free. But I am thinking of selling some pipes in the future...that may allow me to get 1 and 3.

Lets not start sell'en stuff sir, lets just wait and see what happens first.........ya never know I might have a sale. But, we first have to get back to Texas and set up shop before anything can happen.

1. That we see a resurgence in the popularity of pipe smoking (would be more socially accepted and take care of the "not enough profit" issues companies, farmers, and blenders have.) 2. That all government get out of the taxation and regulation of tobacco 3. That all of the doctors would get out of my business when it comes to smoking

1. Have many more smokes and great conversations with my grandfather.
2. Have a smoke with my old buddy Ed.
3. Reconnect with some estranged friends in the pipe community.
