The real Thanks goes to people like you for putting up with people like me. Good Morning Sir! I haven't had to put up with you at all. In fact, if you came over here and I had room, I'd put you up.

So I decided to shop for a new hutch for my cellar and pipes. I need drawers for open jars. I found this one near me on swap. I don't have dimensions yet and am going to check it out tomorrow but what are yall's thoughts? $100.00 is the asking price. Well, sad to say, I called this morning to go see this beautiful hutch to house my pipes and tobaccos and it was sold last night. I am so disappointed. Another will come along I am sure but this one looked just perfect. I should have pushed to go look last night.

Yeah, it was too good to be true...when you see one, grab whatever you need to grab...money, obviously, cash is best, and run like hell over there and look at it, with cash in your teeth, so the seller knows you are serious. I'd be in trouble...no teeth, but I'd gum the hell out of it and then the seller would show me the door or call the police...something...whatever, the point is, don't waste any time when you find the right item...like Penzance, it will go quickly.
Too bad you don't live in north Fla. I see these hutches every weekend at least a dozen every time in Craig's list.

Yeah, there are a lot of similar china cabinets available here...but then Arizona and Florida are God's waiting room for a lot of old farts.
Displaying china sets is not desired by most people under say...50? Consequently, you see a lot of these come to market, and furniture depreciates like crazy. I spent over $500 on a TV stereo cabinet in the 90's...solid oak, with etched glass, I kept in pristine condition, I couldn't get any bites for $25 bucks...finally gave it to a neighbor about 5 years ago.

"He who hesitates is lost." I know this doesn't help, but I've found it to be true. You'll find another cabinet, and it will likely suit you even better in the long run.

There will be others, brother...maybe even better that that. Agreed! I was looking at something similar last year. Very much like this... fayetteville.craigslist.org/fuo/d/dining-hutch-cabinet/6712561363.htmlBut it was sold before I could get there. That turned out to be a blessing, otherwise I wouldn't have found this deal... I'm pretty sure I picked it up for something like $125 or $145. (Gotta love Craigslist) ;-)

There will be others, brother...maybe even better that that. Yep there are plenty more out there. I just like the idea of fairly deep drawers in the front and at least 3 of them so I store my open jars. I like the idea of the shelf top for pipes and then glass doors for the cellar so I can look/admire lol. Sooner or later I will find my dream hutch.

Tip:
Look at local brick and mortar auction houses, hopefully they post pictures online...most do and do your keyword searches...there are estate sales where there are no bidders for items like that, you can often get it for opening bid or let the price drop.
Consignment stores I already mentioned.
Craigslist, Offer up app, letgo app, etc...

"but then Arizona and Florida are God's waiting room for a lot of old farts. "
Had to laugh at that...so true, however. We just waitin' around to kick the bucket..lived life to its' fullest and now ready for a dirt nap. Sure makes it exciting to be in the "golden years".
Haven't found the gold yet, either.

I recently had a sorting day and drug everything out of the cabinets. Quite frankly, I have never seen a more amazing picture. Definitive pipe pornography.
