Honestly, I've been low carb for a while - too many to be in ketosis (close through), but not enough to trigger my body's addiction to carbs. I would love to go back and tell a younger me that little tidbit. I lost 70 pounds since October of last year, and since March, I have leveled out at 155. The last time I weighed that little was in 1989. That, and maybe a few things I've picked up about women.

About the only thing I would have told myself was "don't pi$$ away so much money." This! I’d go back three weeks ago and make sure I did not read the thread mentioning CigarBid. Seriously, I’ve made a lot of mistakes, but they have led me here. And here is happy.

Take the West Point appointment. I know, 18 year old me was an idiot. Yep, I could have had Annapolis, but it was the Vietnam War and I was dumb.

I, like others, have gone through some very rough times, and made some bad mistakes along the way. I've also had great experiences, and made a lot of good choices. Had I not lived the life I've led, regardless of things I should've done differently, I wouldn't be where I am now. I have a wonderful wife, two extraordinary children, a fantastic home, and I job I wouldn't change for the world. That's all that really matters to me. I don't need anything else, and through all the messy times I learned what's really important in life. Have faith (mine is Christian), do the right thing (regardless of whether you can get away with something), always be honest, take personal responsibility, love your family, treat others with respect, and always clean up your own mess (those socks go in the hamper!). All the little bad stuff will add up to a miserable existence, but all the good stuff will add up to a life you can be proud of.

Well-said, Cramp... if anyone ever claims to have made all the right choices and has never done anything stupid... you can be certain they're lying!

Listen and think deeply about everything that is said to you by every person and never take anything at face value, is my honest advice.

LSD and Leary is interesting. I've watched shows and read a lot about psychedelic drugs and connecting with the world, spirituality and overall opening your whole mind. Very, very interesting stuff. The other day on the news they were talking about the success rates of using MDMA to treat PTSD. The studies showed a huge improvement in patients and said after more testing it could be "released" as soon as 2021. The world is changing at a rapid pace. The newer generations have so much more information available to them at the blink of an eye. It's just strange how people can be so close minded about one thing, but completely open to others. But hey, we're just humans afterall. I'm late on this reply, but I had a busy weekend. This is in reference to unknownpipesmoker

But hey, we're just humans afterall. I would NEVER advocate the use of LSD, though I have used it hundreds of times. Literally. It's a personal decision, and no one can make it for you. Turned out to be a positive for me, but I know others who's lives have been nearly destroyed by it.

Guess I should have added a disclaimer to my post.
I am not saying to use LSD to find the keys to life's mysteries. I am saying that I found the topic interesting.
Haha.

There are, however, pathways you'll likely NEVER discover without it.

There are, however, pathways you'll likely NEVER discover without it. Unless you opt for mescaline, psilocybin, peyote etc. But there are also non-substance pathways to mystical experiences - they just take a lot of time, patience, and practice. Which is why psychedelic drugs became so popular instead, in our instant gratification society.

South Georgia weather + Cow pastures = days I'll never forget.
Instant gratification ruins many things. Most things in life are about the journey, not the destination.
