The short answer is once. The longer answer: I've started using the Sous Vide method to cook my steaks. Vacuum sealed in a bag, 2.25 hours +/- in 132 degree water, seasoned and seared on a very hot grill. Done this way, the steak is amazing. Medium rare all the way through, tender and juicy. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't tasted it.
A friend served us steak cooked this way and I was impressed. I ran onto a sous vide appliance at SAMS for $40, so thought I would give it a try. It is amazing. Although, you do have to plan ahead! I've not tried anything but steak thus far; one of these days, chicken.
