My claim to fame is a Bunn coffee maker. Turns out a pot in 3 minutes.I'm on my 4th pot so far today, but that's normal.I've gone for days,up to two weeks,on coffee, poptarts, and smoking.I'm working on Pre-cremation. Me too bought a NIB Bunn VPR on Ebay back in 2005 for $100.00 shipped...the thing is a tank, looks as new as it did on day one, and brews great tea....take the sprayhead off and it fills the carafe in about 15 seconds for recipes needing piping hot water.

I lost count after my 4th cup. Probably somewhere around 8. That's normal for the weekend though.

Yeas it was, Darin! We deliver to a company that repairs restaurant equipment, and Coffemakers are part of what they do. I had one of the techs show me the inside of one that he figured had been in use since the 1980's, showed me another new one that had a minor glitch...they cut no corners on quality on the innards.

Mine is one of the smaller household models. I pour it over to an airpot and start a second pot, so I always have more waiting. Also keeps me from burning a pot on the warmer.

I really cut back on the caffeine... I never have drank a lot of coffee, usually a couple cups in the morning. But, I was drinking iced tea all day, found that my blood pressure was getting consistently close to putting me on the red flag for my CDL requirements... not to mention the risks associated with high BP.
Cut waaay back on iced tea, lost some weight, and the BP is much better. I have too much tobacco to smoke before my ticket gets punched... priorities.

Charlie, some tea’s have more caffeine than coffee. So, can definitely raise one’s BP......take it from someone that has experienced a reading of 257/138....@ The ER I was told “ your lucky you didn’t have a stroke “! Drink a lot of clean water👍👍

Yeah, definitely in my case, the black tea was most of the problem... mostly because of the volume though.

Have you ever tried Aeropress? Aeropress is on the same principle of the French press which I have used often in the past. Makes a great cup of coffee with a heavy caffeine hit, will definitely get your day going 👍

I cut back on my caffeine intake. So much so that when I do have a cup of coffee, I feel it. Making coffee for me now after using all sorts of things is simple. I first grind whole beans. They then get dropped into a reusable basket that sits in a wide mouth pint mason jar. Pour hot water over it. Stir the grounds around and let sit for three to five minutes. Pull out basket taking the grounds with it and I’m left with a very robust cup of coffee. If I drank coffee more, I'd have a few other ways to make it as they all change the way the coffee presents itself so I'd have options. If you like flavored coffee, I recommend Weldon Flavorings. They come in small bottles with a pump that dispenses just a drop but that’s all you need unless you want a much stronger flavor profile. This makes them last a very long time and they’re unsweetened. So you can have your coffee as sweet or not as you like with whatever sweetener you want, if any. Really great stuff. weldonflavorings.com

Have you ever tried Aeropress? No, but I've used a French press forever. I don't mind a French press if I'm in a hurry, but nothing beats the pour over method. No silt, no harshness, no strong acidity. I'd try to find a Chemex, just to try it out, if you haven't. Water needs to be about 20 seconds off boiling when you pour it. That's the problem with traditional machines - they just shoot boiling water over the grounds, and you end up with crappy coffee.

I would consider it more like a hybrid of regular filter coffee and espresso, rather than a French press. It uses the air pressure to force the water through the grounds like an espresso machine would.

Jamaican High Mountain coffee hasn't been available in quantity in over 40 years....most of it goes to those who will pay the high price of High mountain coffee...what is available in quantity now is a blend of low mountain...not as good, but not as expensive. Wallingford Estate was the brand/growers.

Where can I guy the best Jamaican beans irrespective of cost? I would pay up to $100 lb if I can get the same beans I had 15 years ago.

McClellands Jamaican coffee beans were fantastic, but sadly, the company closed down recently. You might find some on ebay if you're willing to pay the price.

I have a Cousinart coffee maker. It is head and shoulders above the Mr Coffee I had before it. I have a Cousinart bean grinder too.
In regard to coffee, I like Ethiopian beans the best (where coffee began).
