Hi all! Just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I have been a cigar smoker, but due to the cost and the amount of cigars I was smoking it was too costly. I have had a pipe for over a year and like it a lot. My Uncle smoked a Falcon with Cater Hall and I think he is why I started in the first place.
I currently have a Savinelli Gaius and like it a lot. I know I need to add more pipes to my collection, but for now it will have to do. As far as tobacco I have Lane 1Q, and a 4 tin sampler of Dunhill Night Cap, 365,London mix and Elizabethan mix. Unfortunately I like all of the Dunhill mixes. I guess I will have to find something close to it as I am a real fan of the Elizabethan mixture. Well all for now. Hank

Hi and welcome ... i noticed you mentioned you just got into the hobby .. `when I first started I didn't know different pipes work differently with different types of blends. I started with a Briar then purchased a clay and a cob. I was really surprised to discover the differences in taste.

Hank For Dunhill I have done: C&D Good Morning replaces my Early Morning Pipe Peterson Old Dubli replaces my 965. C&D London Squire is also very close. Hearth & Home Magnum Opus replaces my Nightcap. Nightcap is a hard one and I mean this isn't a match but its in the same neighbourhood. C&D Rajah's Court replaces Dunhill Durbar. I don't have any others. Others here have suggested a few replacements for other blends as well... Good luck. RIP Dunhill. |

Welcome from Brooklyn, NY. Hank, Sutliff makes a blend called Elizabethan Match. My buddy Jim says it’s very similar to Dunhill Elizabethan (the previous version made by Murray’s). The Match is one of my favorite VaPers. It’s currently on sale for $20/lb at smokingpipes.com.
