Barclay-Rex Maiden Lane in a Jan Zeman Signature, Mammuto. This tobacco was gifted to me a few weeks ago. This is my 3rd bowl so far and I’m finding it quite to my liking! Maiden Lane used to be my go to blend. Do you like any of their others?

SWRA date on jar 2014 Pipe of choice: Savinelli Series III 644 KS Bent Brandy Non-Filtered Unfinished 👌👍 How do you like this bent brandy, Ted? I really like this shape. Randy, it’s an excellent smoker as all my Savinelli pipes are, very well balanced with no issues clenching.

Too early to bed, too early to rise... Woke up in the wee small hours. About to reach for more MacBaren's Golden Extra for my inaugural smoke in the new to me Edward's Edward's Smooth Billiard Billiard 704-S. It's always astonished me how Edward's had the means and foresight to stock up on so much Algerian briar just before it dried up for anyone else.

GLP Piccadilly in a Micoli with black espresso in the big cup. A chill in the swamp at 51 degrees and the lake lapping at the top of the bulkhead. Speaking of bulkheads the village idiots are still working on that same thirty foot next to me. Going on two weeks of listing to a Kubota every day is wearing me down. Well you cant fix stupid. Everyone have the best day you can make of it TGIF.

Thanks, Walkman.....I really like that one too....small yet fulfilling.
Morning Paddy,Ted, Josh and all the rest of the early risers...wet and 70 degrees here in north Fla. Looking at a pair of new storms out in the Atlantic...90% chance of tropical formation...NOT what I want to hear/see.
Trying to breathe...smoke later.

Rimboche S.J. in a 320EX. Delighting in my surroundings. I live on the side of a mountain. My house is two stories in the front and one story in the back. My backyard goes up at greater than a 45 degree angle something like 200 feet. It is all wooded, with Douglas Fir, Sugar Maple, some Oak, and feral Apple, descendant of some old orchard planted 100 years ago. There are some quince bushes along the borders next to the house, which I think came from previous tending of a garden. I look out the back and up the hill this time of year, with great blue clouds of S.J. ringing my head and filling my senses, and see an occasional deer, grouse of some kind, (identified by there exact resemblance to the label on a bottle of Famous Grouse), and every now and then wild turkeys on the more level spots, walking together like little old men leaving a diner. There is evidence of black bear up there but I have only no direct sighting. (Something large crunches around up there every now and then.) Flying over head are Red Tail Hawks. And at dusk, I see many bats come out. Several of the trees, growing precariously on the slope, have a wash out beneath them making small caves the bats call home. The apple trees yield these large softball sized apples. I have tasted them and they all taste a little different and never taste good. The quince however are quite good. I harvest them and I gift them to folks who make applesauce and in return I am gifted with jars of apple sauce 10% quince. Rimboche, S.J., it makes you sit back and look around. Savinelli 320EX, enables you to ignore the mechanics of smoking and concentrate on the flavor. Coffee to drink, and the music? Sounds of a weak little breeze rustling the leaves. Your own slice of Heaven! Every man should have his.

Savinelli Oscar Lucite with Presbytarian mixture Melange. This tobacco is new to me. Only the 5th bowl. In 5 different pipes. Some bent, some straight, 2 with filters. Morning, afternoon and evening. Still not sure how I’m feeling about this one. But as you veteran Patchers have taught me. Don’t give up right away, give it a chance and some time. Maybe set it aside and come back in a month or two.
