Old Dark Fired in a Willmer. I keep trying this tobacco occasionally but it hasn't clicked for me. I suppose I am an official Virginia freak.

Now smoking a bowl of Amphora Original, in the IMP latticed meerschaum, a bent billiard. They say that smoking a meer prevents or at least lessens tongue bite. Whom among you has found this to be true? I've found it to be mostly true in a pipe smoking career that spans six decades already. But not completely true.

… earlier...Amphora Virginia...now, Dunhill RR in a Cavicchi(CCCC) smooth bent apple...fresh coffee on the side...
Thanks, once again, PeterD-Buffalo Spirit...can always count on you for an inspiring picture! So much has been lost of the culture of the Native Americans...truly sad that all that is pretty much left is a stereotype that is totally wrong. Also, as usual, a beautiful pipe. … you're right...much has been lost and few are taking the time to pass down what they do know...even among the various tribes much has been culturally lost... the fact that educational institutions refuse to teach Native History speaks volumes...therefore stereotypes will remain as well...

Finishing this reform grand tulip of Billy Budd Blonde and a thought occurs to me.
BBB is the kind of a blend that invites contemplation because it distracts you from irrelevancies. It is like good music that refuses to be background music.
If you are engaged in something that requires concentration, like work, or building furniture (which I have had to do recently), I would suggest a different blend, something that makes for good background music but is not so good it distracts.

Whom among you has found this to be true? I've found it to be mostly true in a pipe smoking career that spans six decades already. But not completely true. Meerschaum is definitely a cooler and dryer smoke, but I have no idea why. It can't be the absorptive properties of the stone -- sawing them down lengthwise proves that nothing is "soaking in." But it's something.

I better shut up before I get in deeper than is allowed or wanted. Why the various institutions of "higher" learning has not jumped on the bandwagon and developed courses so as to explore and make known what is also part of American history...that to me is criminal. Systematic destruction...I guess it is nothing new.

After the stress of the last month, I have returned to the patch, and smoking my trusty SwissAna, with some cherry bomb from the Scandinavian group. It's a cold October in Illinois, so I'm not going to be out long. Hope everyone is doing well and staying warm.
