It is a pretty fantastic place here from those that run it, to those that contribute. No matter one's age and time smoking, everyone generally gets along and even when there is an issue, like adults, we shake hands and move on.

Long life to this bit of home.

This is a very homey place to be, and Pete, you are a big part of that.

^^^^This.  Truly an amazing place/forum..folks here are like being at home without the conflict...good folks one and all...sometimes there is a little scuffling, but for the most part everybody is pretty open and welcoming.  Glad to be here...wish my friend AJ could feel better and join in...but he is here in spirit if not body.  Sparks has done good..his formatting and willingness to make it right has, in fact, made it right.  Big thanks to him and now I'll shut up and let someone else have their say.

This is not my first rodeo....but my last....nothing but the finest people make up this wonderful gracious.....hospitable....generous....stupendous forum. MANY amazing members here on the BriarPatch 👍👍👍👍👍

Why, thank you Ted.  Sometimes I forget that my attempts at humor don’t translate well in this format.  My modus operandi is that happiness is a choice, and life is to short to choose unhappiness.  I think you all are like minded.

Appreciate your kind words, thank you. This is the ONLY forum I’ve been a member of and have not dealt with idiotic morons that know it all. Plus a lot of negative remarks or some down right nasty members. My last rodeo meaning....this is the last forum I will ever be part of again. Hope that explains my meaning a little better.

Pete, you have hit the nail on the head. There are some great people here in this forum. I would like to name some of them but there are so many that I would leave too many out just through forgetfulness.

When I first started, a few people welcomed me through PM, some even wanted to send my pipes or tobacco - and they didn't know who I was; such was the calibre of people here. Since then I have had great conversations with people about loads of things - some private encouragements.

When moderating posts, I've had little to do, except for the odd gentle reminder, which is taken well. Sometimes people would PM me for clarification and issues are resolved before they begin.

We have a great community here - and I mean that...it IS a community.

What makes it stand out for me is that we can laugh and joke and poke mild fun at each other and it's taken well and given back too. We don't take ourselves too seriously and that helps make this place the place it is.

Qmechanics dive-bombed into the forum like a spammer and received some criticism by people, but they were simply trying to protect the sanctity of this place, only to turn out that he actually WAS a genuine member. Since that was cleared up, he is a contributing member and his sense of humour is welcomed, as if the whole cigarbid incident never happened. That's how good this place is.

Not only that, but the generosity of the people here is astounding. I the Irish were good people, but you guys (and gals) blow me away. The amount of tobacco, pipes and other stuff passing hands here (mostly as a gift) would make Wall Street blush.

Keep up the good work, my friends. Keep this place the kind, friendly, generous place that it is.
