I usually just wear an adult, Spiderman onsie. You know, for the ladies. It's killing me that I didn't think to say that. I bow to your superior retort From you sir, I take that as a supreme compliment. I hope things are going better!

It's really up and down, but I am adjusting my time to spend more with Xuan. Figure that I now have more time in the day now that I pay more attention.

I don’t have any, but it might fit the bill for grabbing a smoke before you head out the door, and don’t want to reek like smoke. I am not a heavy smoker by any stretch, but the wife and kids still tell me that they are surprised that a visible cloud isn’t drifting in my wake... especially on the lat blends. A simple shop coat or a lab coat like they wear in an industrial setting might do the trick, but I am wondering if certain fabrics lend themselves better to the job? I am not ostentatious enough to want to look like Cary Grant in a 40’s movie... doesn’t help that I don’t look like him. I actually would love to have one like Cary Grant in the 40s, but I would probably feel silly sitting in my shop with it on. I have a (Denver Broncos) Chambray shirt that I where over my shirt in the cooler months. It helps.

FYI. If anyone really wants a classic smoking jacket, they have a good selection at the Historical Emporium. Unfortunately, they're not made with natural fibers.

I was going to finally invest in one but I am moving to bangkok.
Jackets are, well, unnecessary there.

You can get one custom tailored on the cheap when you get there.

Seeing as I live alone and only leave the house twice a month to get food, no. Besides, you can find at least one smoking hole in pretty much everything I own. The indoor cats are stuck with a smoky house, which isn't a bad trade for not being hungry strays anymore.

Etsy - I don't know if this link will work , but they do have some vintage jackets for cheap. Check it out if interested, just not the cheap Hugh Hefner Style :-)

Only when it’s cold, raining/snowing. For rain it’s my Barbour oilskin jacket and hat, for cold and snow it’s either my NorthFace hooded jacket or if it’s snowing and I have to shovel my LL Bean Hunters Orange Hunting Jacket and Mad Bombers hat. I only smoke outdoors. banjo

I personally, like to piss off the smoke nazis by smelling like a Latbomb. I don't think about it that way...I know that I stink when I smoke certain blends.....but I don't want to be unnecessarily skunky when sitting next to another person that paid to attend a concert sitting next to me. Kinda like sitting next to someone after I did yardwork all day with a reeking body odor...I wouldn't necessarily think that they are Nazi-like.

My dad had one back in the day. His Brother-in-Law bought it for him as a gag. My uncle was like that- a flower in the lapel which squirts water kind of guy. The Smoking Jacket was gold colored wide wale courduroy with wide black satin lapels and collar. Stag buttons and a black belt. While it sounds ludicrous, it actually was kind of handsome. Pop smoked the cheapest cigars- Dutch Masters, as I recall. He wore the jacket with aplomb while reading the morning paper at breakfast and at night stinking up the house.

Get an oversized one that works best with the outfit you usually wear.

A Smoking Jacket also requires a Fez or a Chinese cap with tasel. A monocle might also be indicated.

My smoking jacket in the fall when it’s nippy is a Carhart Barn Coat, cotton twill is rough, doesn’t burn when sparks hit it.

My mother made my dad a smoking jacket in the early 70's - leopard pattern with brown lapel and cuffs. I don't recall him ever wearing it, but I wore it one year for Halloween. I went as a lion tamer.

I have my eye on a smoking hat with the fez David, when did you change your post name? Just a while ago, Walt. zambini said I had a hep cat persona, so I looked it up and came up with this.

I wore my smoking jacket earlier this week. I was in jeans and a tee shirt. But it was getting colder as the sun went down. I keep my old winter jacket in my garage to smoke in.
Last year, I was looking for a jacket to smoke in, and my wife told me that my winter coat needed to be replaced. Get a new coat and wear the existing coat while smoking. Smart woman!
