Late to this thread due to my Unauthorized Absence for a few days, but I thought I'd dive in with my perspective.
I like occasional contact and conversation with people of like interest, airplanes and/or pipes/tobacco. Not fond of crowds of people though, I much prefer one on one conversions where one can get deeply into a subject. Conversation in crowds is usually vapid or contentious. My favorite times are alone with a book, pipe and music.
