I need some help please...
My wife and I are organising a charity ball on 20th October to raise money for research into my daughter's neurological condition (Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood). It's very rare and, as it the case for many other conditions, it's down to the parents raise money.
This is our third and will be our last ball. We have raised around £8,000 for each ball, so it works out well.
Anyway, I've been given the task of creating a video to play at the start, introducing people to my daughter and the struggles she faces and then describing some of the work that has been done so far regarding research into a cure for the condition. She wants it to be kinda heart-wrenching so people will be encouraged to give.
Anyway, I have a song in my head (not an actual song, but the way the song should go). I would like it to be quiet at the start but ramping up to a louder section in the middle/end of the song - the quieter section at the start to describe her struggles and then ramping up to the 'better' news about what previous donations have achieved.
The kind of thing is like this song, below - it's a cover of the Radiohead song, 'Creep'. My wife doesn't want it because of the lyrics (my daughter isn't a creep...). And this is the thing. I'm more interested in the music. I don't think people listen to the words of the song because they'll be reading the text and watching the videos on the screen. However, my wife wants words that are in some way related.
I think this is an impossible task. Does anyone have any ideas of something? It doesn't have to be in line with what I have - if you have other songs that might work, throw them into the mix...even instrumentals.
If anyone does pitch in a son, I thank you for taking the time to think about this. It means a lot to me.
Here's the song 'type' that I had in mind.

...how about this? Helped me get through my divorce when I had to work hard to keep my children in my life. It was one of my daughter's favorites... still makes me cry whenever I hear it, even though my kids are adults now...

Great stuff. Thanks, Dramatwist. Keep em coming. I'm on the train at the minute so I can't listen to them yet.

This may be the first of several posts. First, I might suggest
Petula Clark "Don't Sleep in the Subway"
Carly Simon "Jesse"
Carly Simon "In Pain" (below)

Ronnie Spector "She Talks to Rainbows" might fit Heart's songs that lead into each other, "Dreamboat Annie" and "Crazy on You"

Just out of my training day to a load of other suggestions.
You're right, @lonecoyote, I asked and I was not disappointed.
You are honestly some of the best friends I have. Thank you.
