I've also used old leather Bible covers with zippered sides that can be used for carrying several pipes. Just a thought/suggestion. I've found them at yard sales and thrift shops as well...for $2-3 dollars.

I use a Saddleback Leather cable bag, and a Stokkebye tobacco pouch. I put the filled pouch and two or three pipes, lighter, tamper, pipe cleaners, inside the cable bag, and I'm good to go.
Cable bag fits in my carry all, or in my back pack, or often I just leave it on the passenger seat in the car.

I have not found the Stokkebye lets the tobacco dry much at all, and it is so easy to fill a pipe from it. Just great. Something that does what it is supposed to do, and does it well.

Here is another idea.
Back in my dad's day, every pipe smoker I knew reached into a jacket pocket to pull out a pipe, and reached into another pocket to pull out a lighter. And a pouch too if not at home.
For many reasons this isn't as practicable today. But I have less and less comfort with my leather bag. I kind of like the days before smoking became a hobby.
So, I have bought a vest with a ton of pockets. Not too expensive, not too dressy but not inappropriately casual. Not too much like a fishing vest. More like western style vest with extra pockets inside.
So you can see where this is going. My smoking vest will contain everything I need for going out when I intend to smoke and be away from the car.
I have taken this out in the field, and I tell you there is nothing so natural feeling as reaching onto a pocket for a pipe. Wow I just plain love it. It matches me better than an almost man bag or almost EDC bag. I just reach in my pocket and smoke my damn pipe, thank you very much, if you know what I mean.
I am also thinking of getting a durable blazer, to cover the same thing for more formal smoking occasions.

I have a few pipe carriers:
A 4 pipe roll my wife got me on Etsy. This is great for long travel.
A 2 pipe roll that a guy called shwimmingaway on Reddit made for me. Holds all the usual stuff and really well made from thick leather.
A $20 Scotte 2 pipe zipper case from Amazon. This is my everyday case.
The rolls are cool and hold a lot, but you need space to unroll them, so theyโre not the most practical thing. The zipper pouch doesnโt hold as much but I donโt need a table to open it.

I'm a big fan of multi-pocketed vests...generally, I gravitate toward the multi-multi pocketed "fishing" type vests, but yours sounds like a great, discreet enough solution for both both Pipe EDC and "tactical/stealth" pipe smoking.....

Like a lot of posters in this thread, I use a purpose-made leather bag. This one is from Martin Wess. I find it more convenient than a pipe roll. It holds four rather large pipes, accessories, and optionally a tin (in the pocket) or tobacco pouch (in the loop)

Martin Wess ^^^^^^^^^ manufactures some fine leather items for pipes. Yours is perfect and I too much prefer this style over a roll-up type.

Thinking of grabbing a pipe-roll, and I wondered for those of you who use them:
How do you like carrying one? Do you find it useful, or is it just one more gimmick? Where do you take it?
My roll of choice would be:
Pricey, but handmade and the quality reported by others is extremely high.
Thanks!
CW
That looks pretty nice. I have yet to see anyone truly Hand making a pouch. Every single one I have seen is machine stitched instead of saddle stitched by hand. Of course a hand sewn pouch would take a lot of labor and would be fairly pricey. But it would be incredibly durable.

I have a leather pipe bag that holds 7 pipes, 2 tobacco pouches, and a zipper pocket on the back for pipe cleaners, wind caps, a couple of folding pipe stands, extra matches, and extra pipe filters.

I have an extremely functional and compact Peterson leather zippered pouch (shown below) that holds 2 pipes, tobacco, lighter, tamper, etc. It really can't be improved upon for my needs. That said, I really like the simple and classy leather Stokkebye 4th Generation folding tobacco pouches and have been considering getting one for short day trips. The pouch carries tobacco which goes in a blazer or coat pocket along with a pipe and lighter. Classy and simple.

I actually use the box that my sunglasses came in. It's a bit silly, but all the accouterments fit well: pipe, ziplock o' baccy, pipe cleaners, tamper, some boxes of matches, etc.

I've got more money tied up in pipe luggage than most have in their collections. I'm a recovering road warrior (that sadly might be on the road again) and this (and a cigar bagador)UPB 8/16 is my go to bag. It's spent hundreds of nights with me working on the road for weeks on end.

(2 of 2) Found a rollup bag on etsy.com. A french leathersmith sells various rollup bags ( HERE). A tad expensive, but holds 2 pipes, tools, tin, pouch, and comes with a leather pipe stand and tobacco tray. Thought is was neat, even to use at home when smoking out on the patio (especially with the tobacco tray). Just ordered and will take a few weeks to make and ship here.

Yup, when I have many doctors appointments in one day. This pipe is my Yello-Bole Pug I purchased back in โ68. Still an excellent smoking pipe. The leather pouch holds one pipe and 1.oz of tobacco easily. Purchased in the early โ70โs. The first picture is of the original pipe, the second is after I refinished the pipe ( 2015 ) with black leather dye and high heat epoxy resin. Ted, I've pouch just like yours except in brown leather and was marked GBD. (though I doubt they made it) I've had it since I started smoking back in '69 and it's beat to hell but still works fine !

Good morning Michael, I purchased this pouch back in โ67 along with the Yello-Bole Pug from a local B&M where I was living on Long Island. Itโs still in great shape because I treat the leather twice a year, no cracks. They sure donโt makeโem like this anymore with the โ proper inner lining โ. That Yello-Bole still gets smoked ๐

SMALL-SIZE, leather, "possibles bag" carried cross-shoulder. Holds pipe(s), pipe-cleaners, small zip-lock bag(s) of tobaccos, lighter-matches, reading glasses, wallet, etc....and I don't have to walk around holding/clutching onto it. My hands are free. Most of these leathery, multi-pipe bags that are shown, look too much like a lady's clutch bag. Do you guys walk around holding onto these things or are they packed away in luggage? Seriously....they look like a real PITA to hold-in-hand, or, carry around...unless they are used to just "transport" your pipes and accessories to the next venue. A rugged-looking, smallish leather, bag, carried cross-shoulder, I find to be no problems, and makes carrying your fav pipe and tobacco around less of a PITA. BTW, if you're handy, a leather bag can be made cheaply and very easily from some scrap leather, and molded if you use some vegetable-tanned leather. Many Youtube videos will show you how to do it. Also, "ditty bags" and heavy waxed- canvass haversacks will also work. If bags are too "girly" looking.... add/sew on some deer-antler closures, buttons, brass tacks/rivets or bring the bag to a show maker for sewing if you don't know which end of a needle is sharp.... ) Muzzle-loading suppliers will have just what you need.

Im going to be in Knightdale for a few months for personal reasons so I picked up my Pipe & Accessories Pouch. Holds 4 pipes any pipe accessory you can think of plus 1.5 ounces of tobacco. Thought Iโd share this as well. I purchased as a close out on Amazon for $25.00....now retired itโs what I can afford ๐๐๐ Have one that looks just like yours except yours is fancier, mine is all black. Works great for a cruise or a weeks trip with more tobacco elsewhere.

Thanks Mike ^^^^^^^^^ I can carry one Kirsten and four bowls plus three other pipes. Also a pocket to carry flints, pipe cleaners, tamper, pipe tool, filters, matches and so on. Has a removable pouch that comfortably holds about 3 .oz of tobacco, which Iโm not that concerned about. It was on clearance at Amazon and itโs been serving me well and holding up๐๐๐

I use one of these. No true place for your pipes but the back compartment works for me. I carry my pipes in the back area with a felt sock. No issues at all. My Falcon has been in there since I got it and smoked her about a dozen times. Plenty of spots for lighters, matches, tampers, cleaners, etc.
