Hey there, guys! I created an account here quite a while ago, but things got busy as they tend to do and I lost any time that I might have had to participate on forums and such. I'm trying to remedy that now and thought I'd introduce myself to the group. My name is Anthony, I'm a pipe smoker (obviously) and I currently live in southern Virginia.
I've seen quite a few familiar names while browsing around the site. Some of you might know me from my pipe repair and restoration work. Others might recognize me from my sorta artsy pipe 'n' tobacco photos and lousy jokes elsewhere on the interwebs. A lot of you probably don't know me at all. That's okay because I plan to stop by more regularly now and I look forward to making your acquaintance.

adding my welcome/greets from 50miles East of Buffalo, NY. By a small margain, Mr. "seniority" here & at the chat. Long timer at old ASP (still do the daily thing 'tho the only one), pre-FB #pipes, old BoB & a few other places that no longer exist.

Piffyr, I recognize you from other "places"...good to have you here, and welcome from what's left of north Florida. So sorry for what you guys have had to go through down in Florida. We didn't get it nearly as bad as you guys, but Michael wasn't kind to southern Virginia. Much worse than anyone in this area expected. My workshop took some damage and I have a pic of some old railroad ties floating through downtown mainstreet from the flooding. Keep calm, carry on, knuckle up and get 'er done. |

ASP was pretty much done and dusted by the time I came into the community, but I still find the archives to be an invaluable resource when I'm researching some old pipe that has landed on my workbench. There was a lot of top tier knowledge on that board at one time. I try to soak up as much as I can before it's gone. I just noticed that this forum has a chat feature and I wondered if it was in use. I haven't had the chance to check it out yet, but I definitely will. |
