The tobacco likes I have so far are a few Any/Surprise Mes, a bunch of This, This, This, or This, but NO AROMATICS, then a few very specific ones.
I think the person who likes Burleys, Burleys and oh yeah, Burleys, may be easier to match than the one who likes Yenidje, and the guy who requested Stonehaven and Penzance! said he was kidding.

No such thing as an odd number. Just rotate between 3 people. A sends to B who sends to C who sends to A.

No such thing as an odd number. Just rotate between 3 people. A sends to B who sends to C who sends to A. Or, if it's easier, just jumble up the list and have person 1 give to person 2, person 2 give to person 3, person 3 to person 4....person 23 to person 1. There's no need to pair. |

Yeah thanks, all good ideas there; I didn't like the mutual swapping anyway. I can still try not to send some cherry OTC to a Lat guy, but most folks are putting likes as almost anything anyway.

I know, and agree, but I have the time, and remember all the tins of bags of aromatics I sent a new and poor smoker on another forum, only to find out she hated aromatics and wanted Balkans and Englishes.
Most folks are putting VaPers, Englishes, Balkans, Orientals or whatever, just no aromatics though, so who knows what you'll get, and I agree, not the point of a Santa anyway |

The whole thing about preferred blends came about thus: I can't work and am alone all day with nothing to do. When I saw Sparks asking for a SS volunteer, I thought I'd be perfect because I have time; others have jobs, families and stuff they gotta do, so I volunteered.
I know it's about the giver and not the gift, but I remembered sending archy boxes of aromatics, because that's what I had. Only after did I find out she hated aros, and wanted the strong stuff, so I thought dadgum it, I have the time, I'm going to see if I can send someone Balkans if that's what they like best. Why not?
Most likes I'm getting are like this: Just about anything that is not aromatic. Seriously, I like English, Virginias, VaPers, VA/Burley, VA/Oriental, but not aromatics. For these folks, the SS will work as always; I'll just tell the giver if he could send anything that's not aromatics, that'd be great.
Some folks however, have specific likes, and I'd like to accomodate them if I can. One person said he had a bunch of aros he'd like to unloa give to someone, but he'd send anything they wanted. When I got a person that liked aros, I paired the aro giver to the aro liker.
As the gang suggested, I don't have to make two folk give each other their gifts, I can pair any giver to any givee, and I liked that better, so you won't be sending to the guy from whom you're receiving (unless you say I hate this dang yenidje someone sent me, and your giver likes yenidje). If the 'Is it Autumnal?' guy from the Bud Lite commercials shows up with likes like Primarily the ones that are Vinegary/tangy, or the fruity sweet/Coacoa ones not the peppery perique etc well, good luck, but I'll still do my best (muahaha).
My intent was to say hey, I have the time to see if I can send you something you actually like, so you won't get that pouch of Capt. Black Grape and the bag of Lane's Very Cherry. It's my first time doing this, so I'm learning! I liked peteguy pointing out how I can do odd numbers, and Legend and sparks' random pairs advice; I'm going to do both of those. I'm not getting a headache, I actually like having something I care about to do. I've seen all the pages on the interweb thing.
