I was thinking of all the pipe paraphernalia and accouterments and thought i would start a thread of what we would really really like that doesn't seem to exist yet.

Ill go first. My brother is avid fly fisherman. He spends the winter tying. But he also has this small portable tying desk that he takes camping. It opens up to a little platform with all the fixed tools he needs, hollowed out areas for tools and stuff being used, and little cubby holes and drawers for tools that will be needed. It is the coolest darn thing. It got me thinking how much i would like to have a small portable smoking desk, with an ash tray, a pipe rest, places for tampers, pipe tools and pipe cleaners, drawers for a couple of pouches and a tin or two, a drawer for a second pipe, etc. Such a portable desk would be delightful for camping or picnicking or to keep on the passenger side seat of the car. If it had a match scratcher it would be almost perfect. I saw the wood butcher thread thebriarpatchforum.com/thread/5167/wood-butcher and got the idea.

I would love to see pipe cleaners that were one half smooth and one half bristly. How hard could that be?

Your pipe cleaner idea is a good one πππ
Iβd like to see Xikar come out with a pipe lighter that lights up with voice recognition command.....very simple...β light & off β.

Here is a couple of suggestions for you.
1st find a guitar case and adapt it for your application. 2nd find a small multi drawer tool box and adapt it. 3rd find a medieval scribes desk. During this time period the scribes had a portable desk they used. You may have to contact a medieval recreation group to find one or get one built. 4th yo yo a sporting goods store and look.at the many tackle boxes you might find one to fit your needs.

Sometimes you want to take more than just one pouch and pipe.

A time portal only accessible to me to go back in time and purchase Dunhill, Barlings, and blends like Balkan Sobranie so that I can flip them in current day prices....that is what I would like to see.
And seeing Jiminks smoking in his crib would be pretty cool.

Great question, but I've got to give out thought. All I can think of are more like my wishes that price be dropped and the nannies keeping their hands out of our patch.
As for innovative inventions... Let me ponder that one.
Maybe this does exist, but a portable extractor/purifier for smoking in confined spaces would be good. One that means the room doesn't smell of smoke afterwards.

I get these Diamond Safety Matches. I guess everyone gets them. And the sides of the box are the scratchies. But the scratchies always wear out before the box is empty. It is crazy.
If someone were to make a permanent scratchie, that could be affixed to anything, or stand alone, I would wait on line for that.

The pot heads have these things called sploofs, that are manufactured and you can buy from Amazon and elsewhere. The Amazon one is called a Smoke Buddy. I don't know how well they would work with pipe tobacco smoke, but assuming they did they still don't remove what comes out of the pipe. But certainly it would make things "better."

Cut a strip and glue to whatever surface strikes your fancy; the bottom of an ashtray?

I keep losing my tampers so I think I will make a bronze tamper. It will not have voice control though π

We have all seen lighters that have a tamper in the side or bottom.
But why can't I get a tamper that has a lighter in it. A nice tamper that lights on the other end, and the scraper and or pick come out the side.

I cut the size of stainless steel rod and shape on a lathe. All my custom made tampers are one of a kind. I lost count on how many I gifted. AJ is the ONLY pipe smoker/friend that has two different style tampers I made. One for when heβs relaxing in his comfortable smoking chair, another with a pocket clip for when heβs on the go.

Cut a strip and glue to whatever surface strikes your fancy; the bottom of an ashtray? Won't work with safety matches. They require a chemical reaction between the match head (sulfer) and the striking surface (red phosphorus) to work. However, it will work if you can find "strike anywhere" matches with white phosphorus heads.

A decent match. Swan Vestas were good but not available.
The Diamond Match company and me have had lengthy correspondence about their inferior product. One in three or four actually ignite. They blame the State of California for regulations which changed their forumla to reduce "emissions" and potential terror threats.

I have one of those...it's called my house. You have a portable house? That could be interesting. Actually, yeah...it is called a mobile home...but if I tried to move this old thing...I would be picking up more parts than anything else. It is a crapper but it is paid for...including the land (1 acre of sand and pine trees waiting to land on my home with the next major hurricane. I rely on the Lord to keep me and my home safe)
