...arguable, but I concede... Excellent, now who is Hoagy Carmichael? ...@cosmicbobo , if you didn't know who Hoagy Carmichael was, how did you come to the conclusion that George Lazenby looked more like 007 than Sean Connerey? ...lol...

I like elections where you have a first and second choice. First is Sean, second is Daniel.

I just had to screw with you. Really surprising there are no Barry Nelson - Bond fans. I am brokenhearted.

Warren William would be my best choice for a Bond if I had one. Loved him in the Lone Wolf series, with the great Eric Blore as his sidekick

I thought Clive Owen might have made a good Bond. Now you're on to something. I never would have thought that, but now you've mentioned it, I can see she you're seeing.

Sean Connery as Zardoz...the dude Rocks! Kind of a toss up for me, I like Roger Moore and I like Sean Connery. Sean Connery was left in too long with younger female counterparts...I think as we geezerize we want to say, yeah, i still got it, but Moore started losing the schizz as he got older. Connery got out when the getting was good...I cant blame turning down a big payoff though...given the opportunity I would chase pu$$y Galore in a wheelchair for the paycheck....probably for street cred too. I forgot about that movie and cannot imagine why, LOL! This may have been his finest role. "The Man Who Would be King", 1975.

There's more than one?
Seriously, though, I voted David Niven because he's just great in so many ways. But really Connery is the only "real" Bond. I do like some of the Moore movies, but mostly because they're so cheesy and tongue-in-cheek. Can't stand Craig - no personality and he just comes off as a sadistic prick. And he looks like Putin. The other guys were just fillers, though the did look the part at least.

I realize you probably will disagree. I loved the Bond books because of their similarity to Mickey Spillane's works. Both give just enough info to explain the story without going overboard, which can break up the action

The Bond movies have always been extremely silly, and Roger Moore always leaned into the farsical, over-the-top nature of the character.
I consider Craig to be the worst "Bond" so far. Not because Craig isn't a talented actor, but because it's played way, way, way too straight.

I cannot imagine him playing Baccarat in a ritzy casino. He looks like an extra in an old B&W Service picture. He should be wearing a flat helmet and carrying a SMLE. Nothing wrong with that just not Bond material.

In early Moore and Sean they killed straight-faced with no emotion. Bond in the books was that kind of cold

Daniel Craig is the best 007 since Sean Connery... They were in some of the best bond films.
PS The remade Casino Royale was like a breath of fresh air to me. It is too bad Ian Fleming's Bond catalogue was not large enough to span the entirety of the Bond franchise (even with the liberties taken in the series productions). Why Connery and Craig? Sean Connery fits the character best. Craig gives the role a sense of reality(As much as the impossible can be believed😁) and grit. The others have merit, but do not stand out like Craig and Connery.

Pierce Brosnan for me, sure wish I looked like him. That is an improvement over Woody Allen as Little Jimmy Bond in "Casino Royale", 1967.

For me, Sean Connery wins hands down. He played good parts in every movie he was in.
