Anyone notice a change in FM Original art over time? In my great purchase from desolbones I noticed that the older tin from 1998 (top) had different art from the newer. The funny thing is that to my eye both seem equally dweeby. I don't see any improvement. In fact, my wife (who is an artist) thinks the older one is a bit better. Odd that they went through the effort to redraw it, or even pay someone to....
I never noticed the change. Mary McNeil painted the frog artwork. I know I'm not the only one to request her to publish print of the series. I'd love to have them hanging in my home and would have dug deep to have made it happen.

That's interesting. I had read where Mary painted the original art but I didn't realize there was a different version. Hopefully some more information can be found. I would love to have some prints as well. That would be cool in my man cave.
I didn't know Mary McNeil painted them - that's cool. There's definitely a real charm to them.
I also noticed that the older tins have a matt finish and the newer ones are glossy. I wonder if maybe there was a change of printers and the original painting was lost. The fonts are also different, and on the old tin the text on the back is printed on a sticker.
