If you were introducing star wars to someone who had never seen it, what order would you recommend them to watch the first 6 episodes; the way it was released or in order?

My father, who passed in the early 1990s LOVED the original release. He spent a lot of $$ for the time for a disc player because they included a copy of Star Wars. He considered it a modern Western.

I’ve not watched any Star Wars TV shows, movies or even play the game. I was never much into Sci-Fi. I’m more of a reality person I guess.

I vote for the way it was released. I do that with books, too.

If you started with the three crappy ones (Phantom Menace etc), they'd never even get to Attack of the Clones. I mean, if you can make Samuel L MFing Jackson with a lightsaber suck... Start with one that has Daisy Ridley in it (The Force Awakens). Tell 'em she gets nekked.

You have to watch the original trilogy first to really understand how bad the prequel trilogy sucks.

In regard to 7 & 8, they never happened. Neo-Disney garbage, IMHO.

As a geek/nerd/fan of both Star Trek and Star Wars (I take no sides in that battle) as well as many other parts of the Sci-Fi world, my only comment for the question asked is......

...1, 2, 3... skip the others... especially the Disney ones... I am Disney fan... but only while Walt was alive... Star Wars is a purchased commodity now... I gave up my Disneyland Annual Pass when they announced that they were turning Frontierland into "Star Wars" land, or whatever they're calling it...

Why are you guys leaving out the last two with DAISY RIDLEY? You should watch 'em; she gets nekked.

I still have all my action figures toy blasters and trading cards. I was 7 when episode 4 came out and I was/am a junkie. That being said I'd stay with the original theatrical release order. But I agree, I like rogue one better that episodes 1,2 or 3. I am liking the recent ones just fine but the first three, especially a new hope and the empire strikes back are my ultimate faves.

Yes Rogue one is a good movie but I just watched Solo and thought it was a movie by committee.

Yes Rogue one is a good movie but I just watched Solo and thought it was a movie by committee. New Hope and Rogue One are the only ones worth seeing independent of the franchise, in my opinion.

You have to watch the original trilogy first to really understand how bad the prequel trilogy sucks. LOL. Excellent response. I thought the majority would have chosen option 1. However, I was surprised with how many chose option 2. I'm going to relive my childhood through my daughter, so I'll be introducing her to the main novalogy (??) soon. I'm going to show her the films in the order they were released...but I won't skip any. She has to learn.
