Again pardon me , nothing new under the sun as they say, this thread has already been tried, but further back down the line, but as I say , I will sit back & time out as they say in basketball. Apologies to Sparky for the untidiness and apparent disorder.

I thought I would present the " Flying Horseman" meerschaum pipe by CAO as the " holy grail" of some pipedreamers for their collection, but I could not find an image online of this mysterious pipe, so I will propose a Folk pipe as a dream pipe for tonight like this Ukrainian pipe, & I will finish my cup of char & biscuits & smoke my own Ukrainian folk pipe for the dream pipe & maybe there will be a Christmas token gift for the best foolish post, G' Bless folks.

With the permission of Sparks I will offer a token booby prize of a Liverpool icon superlambanana , not the original made by my mate Tommy & mates from a Japanese maquette, but a Liverpool museum booby prize, also some tins of Squadron leader & Avro tobacco, from Smoke King UK. To all proposers of the best Holy Grail pipe, selected from a random draw in the New Year 2017 AD, by the grace of our Lord. May the biggest fool win ....I will not offer myself in the draw to avoid accusations of fixed results. Luv ya & leave Ya for now folks.

I have a few dream Epoca's that I hope to add to the collection before long, one is with a friend and I hope he finally lets go of it in Vegas. I also want to add some more very early Mi Reserve with the vucanite stems to my Castello collection and an estate ODA size Dunhill billiard in the plain black Namiki lacquer finish. I am lucky to have been able to add a few dream pipes over the years the latest being the shape 15 billiard Flame from the '99 RTDA group of 24. I have two of the shape 30 oval shank bent apples from this series but that 15 always was on my mind. A friend of mine came up to me on Sunday afternoon in Chicago last year and was very excited to show me what he found and low and behold there it was! I had been broke and was in debit since Friday morning but I dug deep and Bob's your uncle! I still glow when I think of this highlite to my 15 collection! It really rounds it out It's the top pipe shown with my Friday pipes.

One of Bing Crosby's Bings. Several reasons why. Love the shape, would be cool to be able to say I have one of Bing Crosby's and then make some story about how you got it.
"How did I get it? Bing was a friend of the family from way back and when ever he was in town we would go to dinner and have a few drinks. Well the last time we got together someone said something and we both broke out laughing. I laughed so hard I was crying so I wiped my eyes and when I looked up, Bing was face down in his clam chowder! I thought OMG Bing is dead! What am I going to do? So I did the first thing that came to mind...stole his pipe and ran like my arse was on fire."
Yes, I realize I will probably spent a couple of decades smoking Mixture 79 in purgatory but still that was funny.

Never put that much thought into how I would tell that story though, lol. Nicely done.

G'mornin' gents & All, the GRAND PRIX de GLOBE, is a humble common Queen Elizabeth ll Diamond Jubilee plate & a modest surprise selection of British tins of tobacco ( often only available in the UK). With Sparks permission, this champion of fools will receive the full honours for making the most posts on this thread of their different Holy Grail dream pipes. Again the Winner will be announced in the New Year 2017. Bye'All.

This is my retirement pipe. I have two Altinok meerschaum pipes and an IMP; however, I'd always a wanted a Baki to round out the collection. I also wanted something a little out of the ordinary as opposed to one of the traditional styles so I went with this one: A little hefty at 82 grams but it does clench fairly easy. It won't see any action far away from the Lazy Boy anyway this fall and winter. Should be a lot of fun.

Until last night I had not given this thread a lot of thought. To be honest the story (above post of mine) took just a few minutes to piece together. It took me longer to type it than it took me to think up. While I would love to have a Crosby Bing, I mostly posted that just for a laugh.
The reason I had not given it a lot of thought is because, being on a fixed income, most of my "dream" pipes aren't rare or anything just simply out of my price range. A Basil Meadows merchant service Bing or a Windjammer would mean more to me than pipes that sell for thousands of dollars. Therefore I really didn't have a Holy Grail pipe.
For some reason however I have been thinking about this thread on and off all day and it occurred to me what would truly be a Grail pipe for me - a style of pipe called "the Sam". Not exactly what shape it would be but for various reasons I won't go into it would have to be a dark stained bent and sandblasted pipe with a Cumberland stem. It would need to have a larger bowl, gr5 or 6 and have a silver band with a semi-colon engraved on it.
Okay, I will leave this thread to those more serious members of our merry band.

G'evening Sammy & all, all are welcome on this merry Christmas prize thread, my " best" pipe, money wise, is a Rattray in my diverse but modest collection, I smoke one puff at a time whether a corncob or Parker, down the briar patch I may smoke top dunhills or diamond encrusted briar noble metal pipes, but enjoy the fun the " crack" folks as the Irish say , be seeing you gents & all. PS.all posters on the thread get an equal chance of the Booby prize, the mostest poster gets the Grand booby prize whatever the Grail pipe dream post, folks. In democratic merriment Hi ! Then again anyone for Bingo or blackjack on this forum, not I , my mates.

GN , virtual bro's & sisse's , some rules, with sparks permission, in this autumn prize event, from about Michaelmas to Christmas, like entropy or a tiny rolling snowball that becomes a big snowman, if there is a month with less posts than the previous month the booby fool prize is off & similarly for the Grand Global Prize fool if the Grail dream pipes decrease month by calendar monthe the GGP fool prize is off until the next year, so may the biggest fools win , by the grace of G. More technical rules will be forthcoming for the smallprint. PS.Any legal or or otherwise commitments is disowned by me. PPS. If you need any advise, like James Stewart, would have said, consult a Philadelphia lawyer , Hi !!!

Maybe I missed it.

I'm a bit confused... is there a contest of some sort... with a prize associated with it? Maybe I missed it. With your permission Justin I proposed some little prizes to encourage posting on the thread as mentioned above, it is just an idea , unless it is acceptable to the Staff. Just a bit of Christmas seasonal fun .. As a above :- With the permission of Sparks I will offer a token booby prize of a Liverpool icon superlambanana , not the original made by my mate Tommy & mates from a Japanese maquette, but a Liverpool museum booby prize, also some tins of Squadron leader & Avro tobacco, from Smoke King UK. Awesome pipe. Think you'll be really happy with it. My two Altinoks meers are among my best smokers. Neither are nearly as sweet looking as that one. Well done.
