Let's transfer this discussion out of "What Are You Smoking".
I knew Jerry Garcia, and met most of the members of The Grateful Dead. Nice guys.
I didn't see Jerry often, but when I did, in between smoking joints and doing coke, we would play our acoustics and talk mostly about old musicians, WWII planes and Universal Monster movies.
Jerry was not particularly "on board" about the whole "Deadhead" thing. He loved the fans, but he hated tie-dye.
I'm glad that folks appreciate what it was, but what is is now is not the same thing.
