G'Early'Morn'folks, winding down this Early Morn with some 1817 blend , a superior tobacco with a lot of experience & wisdom in the design & creation of this understated masterpiece. The room note is very witty in it's spice frontispiece, but paper like floral undertone, but the laugh is on you, this pipe tobacco is to be smoked not snuffed, nor sniffed. It is the true essence of British blends of Eastern sojourn, it epitomises everything good about the English character ( & I speak as an Anglo- Welsh layman, a bit outside and aloof but of the heartbeat of Anglicanism). It is though an experienced English gentleman in the pipe profession as a consultant amateur in the best elan of unpaid & free and independent spirit, who had smoked all English tobacco's & more , & had designed the best he could imagine & create independent of business criteria the Holy Grail of blends. This tobacco has harmony & balance of composition, not of bombastic Beethoven, but Imperial global Ralph Vaughan Williams. Some tobaccos grab your attention with the oompah-oompah noise , but this is for a superior connoisseur of the English smoke It is an eternal mix for a worldwidel yet everyday but special blend like Earl Grey Tea What did William Blake say to you bright spark pipers, To see a whole world on a grain of sand. And Heaven in a Wild Flower. Hold Infinity on the Palm of Your Hand. And Eternity in an Hour. (But lest ye forget). a Robin Redbreast in a Cage. Puts All Heaven in a Rage.
Highly recommended to all discerning smokers.Good Night Ladies & Gentlemen. PS. It is the next best thing to good hay and gentle healing herbs you can dream.of in the Buffalo grass world folks. Hi !!!

I would like to dedicate my today's pipe smoking to an unknown member of National Guard in the Siege of Alcazar at 1936 which said: "We are few, they are many. We believe, have faith. Those who do not believe, would destroy the faith. They think, and this is something that happens in the mind. We pray, and this is something that happens in the heart. I sometimes cry, but I am not afraid. If I die, I died. But this only for me, because the one in which i pray can not die. As i sight my weapon i pray, as i throw a grenade i pray. The Reds think, the thought is nothing. Eventually they will drop. We believe and it lasts forever. "Pipeshop.net No4 Black Cavendish - Greek handmade pipe.

G'Day, concerning Henry Tandey, VC , DCM, MM, :- from wikipedia. Whether urban myth or not, whether it was Tandey or not some soldier showed mercy to Adolf Hitler, or why would Hitler remember & acknowledge such an incident? Hitler incident[edit] Although disputed, Adolf Hitler and Tandey allegedly encountered each other at the French village of Marcoing. The story is set on 28 September 1918, while Tandey was serving with the 5th Duke of Wellington's Regiment, and relates that a weary German soldier wandered into Tandey's line of fire. The enemy soldier was wounded and did not even attempt to raise his own rifle. Tandey chose not to shoot. The German soldier saw him lower his rifle and nodded his thanks before wandering off. That soldier is purported to have been Adolf Hitler.[8][9][10] The author David Johnson, who wrote a book on Henry Tandey,[11] believes this story was an urban myth.[12]n
Hitler apparently saw a newspaper report about Tandey being awarded the VC (in October 1918, whilst serving with the 5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's (West Riding) Regiment), recognized him, and kept the clipping.[10]
In 1937, Hitler was made aware of a particular Fortunino Matania painting[13] by Dr Otto Schwend, a member of his staff. Schwend had been a medical officer during the First Battle of Ypres in 1914. He had been sent a copy of the painting by a Lieutenant Colonel Earle in 1936. Earle had been treated by Schwend in a medical post at the Menin Crossroads and they remained in touch after the war Finishing the 1817 in the BC Liverpool, with a Royal Dutch Blue at my side.

Still starts on the first pull. Really saved me in winter of 08/09 when we had the worst ice storm of my life and I was without electricity for nine days. Drinking ice tea with lemon.

C&D Pennington Gap in some weird looking MM cob I got in a bag of seconds. Not usually one for whiskey blends (bourbon in this case) but thought I would try it since it contained that wonderful weed, Perique. This is good stuff. I could see this as one of my regulars.

CobGuy Cob Twist - I don't know how CG does it, and I dare not ask how he does or what goes in it, but no one on Earth in this day and age has yet to match what he makes IMO... maybe many hundreds of years ago did our ancestors get such gifts of the gods in such natural form so full of flavor... but today... rare rare rare & ultra-rare! Strong, smooth, slightly sweet and SO full of flavor - no bullshit... the REAL DEAL! Maybe Daniel Boone had the honors way back in the day. Desert island pick #1!
