Yeah but the blenders seem to all be complaining about the lack of quality product as more and more farms go. I don't know. It seems good online and in SOME of the b&ms... But what I am hearing from McClelland and others seems to indicate otherwise. Tobacconists I've spoken with say that the quality of the blending stock they're getting in has declined a bit. That may partly be due to machine harvesting replacing harvesting by hand. The harvested leaf is a mixture of ripe and not quite so much. In any event, buy what you can when you can. I can say that this is one of the reasons my enthusiasm for the various tobacconists' 'house-blends' is somewhat tempered. Let's speak honestly. The materia prima is most likely to be sourced from the large houses, Lane, Sutliff, and the like. My opinion is that the quality of their leaf is .... as high as the market requires it to be in order to sell, no higher. Where can the small blender find the African and Indian Virginias? The exotic and lesser-known Orientals? Sadly, if you want to bake your cake, it'll likely be ACME™ eggs and ACME™ flour and ACME™ milk. We seem to be importing lots of interesting blends but not the raw materials from overseas for making them.

That confirms the rumors. Good news as it sounds like we'll continue to see the SG blends coming out of the new company.
