I've started 2 or 3 times to put this in the thread "What's in the mail", but it's not tobacco related. So I decided not to. While in Billings, MT back in September, I stopped in at Rand's Custom Hatters. For the first time in my life, I went ahead and paid the money and was fit for a custom hat made just for me. I got to designed it, and I just got an email that it's finally done, and being shipped out. I feel like a little kid at Christmas! It's 100% pure beaver felt, and all natural. No dye.

That is a sharp looking hat, guessing that will not be a trail hat.
It is nice knowing you have quality when making such a purchase.

Damn D! That's a nice hat. I am more of a baseball cap guy, but something like that could convert me.

Nice. That is beautiful hat. I am jealous. I wear a wide brim fedora quite a bit. Had to wear a baseball cap for the better part of 30 years so I can't deal with a ball cap anymore. Started wearing a wide brim Cuban fedora last summer and picked up a couple of off the rack felt hats for the cooler months. My son told me I'm not old enough to pull it off. My answer? "Yes. Yes I am"

I love a good hat, and that one is a beauty. Wish I could pull it off, but I look like crap in any decent lid so I wear a ball cap from Rudys BBQ in San Antonio. Love that cap, love their food even more...I think I ranted about it some time back. Enjoy that fine looking hat, wear it everyday with a smile. You earned it and designed it and now it is you. Pics please when you get the time.

That is a grand hat, Dewayne. You have every cause to be proud of it. Take care of it and it will do likewise.
I hope you fare better than I, once, with a new Stetson XXX Beaver. A gust of wind blew it off my head and into an open bucket of hydraulic fluid, crown first. It weren't never the same although I still wear it on some jobs especially when it rains. Hydraulic fluid is good for some things.
Wear yours in the best of health.

Rudy’s is the best!Wonderful...someone else knows about Rudys...food good enough for me and the wife and our elderly chihuahua to drive two days just to there and eat. That is how much we love their food...then we discovered Bill Millers fried chicken and gravy and a burger joint with the best burgers and fried pickles my wife has ever tasted...she loves fried pickles. So, we plan to do it again...probably every year until I can't drive anymore...I'm hoping for at least another 5 years or more.

Congratulations on the fine hat! I inherited several Stetson hats from my uncle, but unfortunately, his hat size was 6 3/8 while I am a 7 3/4.💩😣🤠

Finally got back to the States and picked up my hat. I don't have much, but what little I do have, I prefer to be quality. Rand's Hatter 100% beaver hat, JM Boswell pipe and my handmade D'Ambrose working saddle. If a man needs much more than that, he's just greedy.
