I just spent basically the last three days travelling. Not easy in the end stages of rheumatism. But this hot weather sure perks me up! So as many of you know I am spending the winter in thailand. I have some pressing matters with the family back home so I can't really full-time it here yet. I'm just a very committed snowbird. I normally take a lot more tobacco stuff with me but this time I kept it brief and enjoyable. I'm in pattaya and this should last me at least until I am back in bangkok where there is -one- pipe store. I imagine I'll be into those Havana club 20s even more than the Petes and the Kaywoodie scrooge gave me. Also thailand needs a medical mj dispensary programme put into place, because right now, patient or not, because there's no legal dispensary system in place, it still means jail. Luckily Kratom is easy (and legal) to come by here. I get a hangover if I drink too much 4x100 Kratom drinks though. Anyway yes that is a dancing pole next to my bed. Hilarious. Pattaya. Okay.

Looking forward to some pictures of the Country and who’s dancing on your very own pole in your bedroom......lol. Yes, absolutely, I'll have some photos coming forth. It normally takes me about a week to recover from the hell air travel puts on my body and brain. I actually left my most important luggage in customs (the worse and best place to leave it by the way). The airport staff knew right where it was. But it was a whole mess of paperwork to get it back when I hadn't slept it almost two days (I can't sleep on planes..). I was just running out of space and I thought about the fellow codger I met in the northeast of America who told me he's been smoking the same two peterson pipes since the 50s. And he only smokes borkum riff! So I thought that I could at least tough it out until I make it to back to bangkok. I may buy some of those odd French pipes the fellow had put put for sale. They looked like decent smokers. That keeps my pipes and cellar safe. Technically you're to declare at customs any tobacco more than like 20 grams. And they can put any price on that tobacco they want to.

Nice selection of tobacco and pipes! Make sure that the pole is secured very well before you go swinging around on it

Sounds like an adventure, UPS. I traveled abroad a lot when I was young and really miss it. Keep us posted and, as mentioned previously, photos are always appreciated. Take care.

That turned out to be more than enough smokes. I am really becoming a light smoker as I age, and that may not be a bad thing. That one pipe or cigar tends to hold me over on most days. I don't know if I told you guys this or not, but I told that chick to beat it. Before I even got back here. She was just making bizarre requests like having a baby before we even get hitched. I mean, I've been coming here for decades and I've never even heard of that. I guess she was trying to make sure she has her fish, if she had a bun in the oven, so to speak. At my age, I am not sure I can put any buns in any ovens. Leavened or unleavened . I spent two nights in the gogos and that was enough. I don't drink anymore. My body simply can't process alcohol anymore. At all. Liver, kidneys, bladder, they all say no. And I am just too old to be running around with bar girls. I'm too old for this town now. This is "no town for old Men", so to speak. Koh Larn, now there's another story. The first few photos are of Pattaya, and the last three is Koh Larn. Really speaks for itself. Now that's a beach. I had an amazing seafood dinner there for two for about 8 dollars. My date (a real date, mind you gentlemen) was impressed with the food. It's 93 degrees here. I am going to go back to bangkok after a short weekend trip out to Koh Larn. My hope is to sit out on that nice pool deck and work on some writing. This trip has given me a lot of ideas on another book. Bar girls. Weird tourist with alcohol addled brains. Backpackers in bizarre altercations with each other. Crooked cops. Love. Murder. Prisons. This could be it. I have some administrative matters to tend to over the spring and grateful dead matters to tend to over the summer. And then this rooster is coming back here to roost. Pattaya thesedays is only good for maybe a weekend. Then you want to move on to Rayong or one of the islands. I am just glad it isn't 5 degrees outside like it is back home. Sorry if this is all a bit of a convoluted mess. I'm typing this from my phone in bed in my hotel room. I hope all is well at the patch. I'll be around. I miss this place. aqueous ammonium sulfate

Oh, the stickers. I got those for a dollar (for all of them). I thought the old r61 could use some sprucing up. The pipe guy was really cool.

Sorry to hear about your relationship. Glad you've settled in OK though. I hope your tobacco survives.

Thanks, the tobacco is doing great. I find myself up on the smoke deck purely for social reasons more than anything else. It's nice not being allowed to smoke indoors when the outdoor weather is so lovely! I've been through a lot of heartbreak in my years. Unfortunately this isn't the first time I've had a bad trust in souteast Asia. Live and learn!
I'm dating another lady now. Late 30s but looks 23. Tall, leggy. A complete stunner.
I'm having myself a nice British pie here now. That's one thing I will say about Pattaya. If you really require western food, you will not starve here. I get the craving a few times a week.
