Hi , I'm Sal from N.J. {NYC area} .
The main reason for joining this forum is to see if I can find likeminded folk {to have impromtu / sporadic pipe meets , etc.} here .
This is the 1st {pipe site} forum I've ever joined {after reading / lurking on this forum for 3 - 4 months } I Love the people / posts / format ...
I used to read CPS {sometimes still} .
I've been smoking {pipes} for 40 + yrs.
I'm also a musician / artist {oil , watercolor , pastel , etc.} .
Feel free to PM me if in the N.N.J. / NYC area {im in bergen county} & would like to maybe meetup .

Much diversity on styles {fusion , rock , jazz , etc.etc.} ... I play {compose} guitars , drums , bass & a bit a' keys. adding my welcome/greets from 50miles East of Buffalo, NY. Temp on hold till can afford to get my custom 5-string violin/viola fixed. Trained in the classics, major in baroque. Long time played with pop/some jazz but mainly Western Swing groups.
Dedicated lataholic in tobacco choices. All pipes with Lucite stems, total 51.
Wouldn't mind if somebody could take my "seniority" away..gotta beat 12/40. (27.5 yrs on the railroad ways back & seniority was everything).

Sal, welcome from Northern California. A little far to join your meets in person, but the Patch is the greatest virtual location for friends of the pipe. This is a great site with great people.

Your best chance of meeting pipe smokers is at a NYPC meeting in SoHo Manhattan or at the New York Pipe Convention March 9th in Newark.

Yo lib - Welcome. Are you far from the JR Cigars in Whippany? The NJ Fellowship of Pipe Smokers meets there monthly. Also, IPSD, which is a Wednesday, will be celebrated there, and I have been going there since the first one.
