Well...probably aged leaf! The tobacconist that the Arizona Pipe Club meets at is Big Sticks Fine Cigars in Mesa Arizona. The proprietor, Paul Buza is an innovative proprietor that is always looking for avenues to make the place a great watering hole of sorts for lovers of the leaf. The newest change is to have a Cuban Born cigar roller on staff to roll cigars, and I believe that Big Sticks is the first cigar shop in Arizona to have a federally licensed cigar factory on site...it took a lot of work jumping through regulatory hoops, and the tax has to be paid on each stick before he can sell it. The cigar roller hails from Corona cigars (forgive me for not remembering his name or the other company he worked for). Fresh cigars require aging, the plan is to roll 120 cigars per day, and the first ones available to buy will be on March 1st. Truly a commitment in leaf purchase and labor before Paul makes a dime. As for us pipe smoking cigar smokers, Paul has shown the same support for our beloved hobby, and is quite the piper himself! i chanced by the place today on the inaugural rolling...Paul is pictured with the first Big Stick...rumor has it that the cigar rolling may be going on at our meeting Wednesday night...Jan 23rd. www.facebook.com/BigSticksFineCigars/If that cigar press ever rests...Paul needs to Brew Crumble Cake!

Charlie, you have a great place to meet up with pipe and cigar buddies. Also, your lucky that your a part of a B&M where the proprietor cares about his customers. I hope his fresh rolled cigars which will be sold in March works out well for him, looks like he has a lot of support. I really enjoy reading stories where the lovers of the “ leaf “ are not forgotten. Thanks for sharing the story and pictures 👍👍

Very cool - not as cool as the linen bloused, voluminous skirted, black haired beautiful women of the posters adorning the walls of tobacco stores across America, but well done all the same. Hopefully, these will drive a premium on the cigar market and raise Big Sticks to even more prominence than they already have.
Neat, but still difficult to draw my attention away from pipes. As infrequently as I smoke, cigar vs Danish blended pipe tobacco, well, no contest. However, I'm going to share this post with tobacco aficionados who may be interested in a genuine AZ cigar.

One thing I miss about Miami, back in the day, was the ability to go into cigar shops (some were factory headquarters/sponsored), especially on eight street, and watch/smoke freshly rolled cigars.
