I am an American living in America, but since 2003, I go to Stockholm 3 or 4 times a year to spend time with my engineering group at our office there. I also have a couple of friends up in Skellefteå, but I haven't had a chance to get up there yet. I hope that you're not paying Swedish prices for pipe tobacco and are somehow getting it from the old homeland. Welcome to The Patch! |

Skellefteå or Skellefti as the people who live there call it is not that all too far away. Luckily I don't live in Norway, there they've basically priced tobacco out of existence. I worked there a few years ago and would pay my gas money by bringing cans of snuff with me and selling them to guys on the work site. Then a can of snuff was going for a little over $10 equivalent. |

Really a blessing to have found (The Patch). Gets lonely at times living in a foreign country and seems I have a little refuge here. I should also be saying hello to new members but being one myself I wasn't sure if that sits right. All of your warm welcomes are appreciated.

I feel like it is a real cross-eyed way to view my comment if he took me seriously. hahaha
That being said, I do feel bad if his feelings were hurt. I try really hard to stay positive on this forum. In fact, I always add the annoying 'hahaha' after my statements, so they are more obviously seen as jokes and sarcasm. I feel terrible that the one time I forgot to do so...

I think perhaps @bubbabriar misunderstood your humour, PhantomWolf. That said, he did post that he wasn't keen on the fact the threads can meander slightly. There's not much we can do about that as we don't want a rigid forum here, suffice to say, give it time, @bubbabriar. If you can get used to it then there is great company here. We even have threads almost for the purpose of going off topic (daily chronicle). |
