awww, a thread just for me! y'all are so sweet. sorry i've been UA (as hubby would say, most others would say AWOL, lol) things just got very overwhelming here and I haven't wanted to do much of anything. I have been hitting the smoking lounge because that is my therapy -- I will always laugh there, and laughing is therapy for me. it started with the holidays -- hubby was here 24/7 for almost two weeks, and that doesn't allow me any downtime to myself. then for the next two weeks he kept taking days off through the week, and i still had errands to catch up on from the two weeks he'd been home, so still no down time for me. And, he had two out of town trips, which are always a bit stressful -- the travel, finding places to park, deadlines, being in public for days. not good. the plus side was we did get good meals. In Morgantown we ate at Black Bear Burrito twice, and we got pint glasses as souvenirs. very cool place. The next place we got to eat at Denny's which we never get to do, and I can't remember where that was. Two weekends ago we were back out, and there was a Denny's but it was hard to get to. We ate there once and then the next night at the Eat n' Park which was across from our hotel. Last week I was sick. I started feeling better on Thursday and then we had to travel to Kingwood this past weekend to meet hubby's friend and deliver her 8 shelves he made for her. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. In a couple weeks hubby will be gone for a week for a field training exercise. I won't have to shuttle him back and forth from work, I can just sit at home decompressing. Hoping the weather will let me sit out and smoke. I wanted to go to the lounge yesterday, but hubby stayed home haven't bought any pipe or tobacco. missing out on IPSD because money is tight right now after all the trips we've made *sigh* the upside is that after hubby's FTX I should have the money to get the chromebook i've been wanting!

...happy you're back, kid... down/alone time is EXTREMELY important, so I get it... you missed a lot of BS around here, so no great loss... nobody said anything important, especially me...

I completely understand where you're coming from. I'm an introvert myself. Sometimes even going to work is too much for me when all I really want to do is be alone. It's hard for some people to understand.
Edit: also, a last minute change of plans ruins my whole day and my mood.

You're right, Josh, I've been like this since I was a sprout. Don't know why. Just is. Lots of relationships down the drain because of it.

Welcome to the patch Lady Margaret . Pop over to the welcome section and tell us a bit about yourself. Seriously, welcome back. Let me catch you up... Some people have been ill, but are on the mend (mostly), some people have bought new pipes or tobacco. Many people have smoked loads of tobacco. There have been some silly threads, some interesting threads, some funny threads...oh, and some @cosmicbobo threads which are in this list as a separate item as I don't know how to describe them. So yea, that's you all caught up.

I agree about the needs of introverts not being widely understood. The world seems designed for extroverts.
Would make an interesting thread. I think majority of pipers class themselves as introverted.

Introversion is a good thing. I suffer from the malady myself. My wife often complains, but my favorite pastime is solitary ponderance and pipe.

Glad to hear from you, LM. Sounds like your life and mine are running at a similar pace right now. Glad you found time to check in. It's good that you had the smoking lounge available for decompressing. I will add my name to the list of introverted pipe smokers. I enjoy the company of a friend or two every now and then, but only have one friend that I am comfortable with for several days in a row. (Not counting my wife.) I do shut myself in the smoking room once in a while, though.
