Is the second pipe, going down the line, a Maple?

As I mentioned in my intro I attempt to make pipes, here are some I've made. No I'm not a Swen Bang nor am I even Dr. Grabow. I just make honest pipes that smoke well while trying to make them attractive at the same time. I am my worse critique. Geezus man, you are an incredible talent!!! Did you also hand-fashion the stems? WOW!!!

If I have to make a pipe it really takes a lot out of it and just pressures me and then being retired losses it's true meaning. I try and make at least one pipe a month depending on my health, so far I've not been able to do that but, I do have 3 in progress.

You are very humble Ron, which is a nice trait to see these days. Your work is stunning and if they smoke as good as they look then you have quite a bit of fun ahead of you. You thought you were retired but this lot will keep you busy if you let them

Out of everything I've ever done and made I've never seen any of it as good as I wanted it to be. I reckon that's my curse for being too much of a perfectionist.

Nothing wrong with being a perfectionist, as long as it doesn't drive you crazy

Do you have a website to sell these pipes or do you go to shows with them?

You really are selling yourself short. Do it with PRIDE! I take pride in my work, I just don't always like the finished product as much as I would if it came out the way I intended it to. Nothing wrong with being a perfectionist, as long as it doesn't drive you crazy Crazy is as crazy does, hell that's what keeps me going. If I were sane I wouldn't be doing it and make life easier on myself by just buying the other guys pipes

Yes ... wondered if it was Maple wood because of the grain and coloration. Do you have a website to sell these pipes or do you go to shows with them? Here's the strange thing, I'm as colorblind as the day is long. I just stain them what I see as a nice brown with contrast color. I don't have a site nor do I or can I go to shows because of the travel time effecting my health, besides showing my pipes at such gatherings would be much to intimidating for me. Crowds of people just put me in a state of anxiety. I'm not good with people in general, hence why I'm a hermit of sorts. I post my pipes on forums I frequent and do fairly well. Maybe some day I'll get a site cause I'm not a Facebook person really either. That'll be another bridge to cross when I'm ready cause I hate change also. So you see I'm just a ball of phobias, my baggage is heavy, that's why I almost never move.

Sadly my antique lathe is just too small to make a shank any longer then a few inches. Maybe when I get rich and famous I'll be able to afford a larger lathe and the space to put it.

Completely understand ... I also don't do FB and have no desire.
I'm looking forward to seeing some pipes for sale here in our classified section, though!
