Out of 413 responses, as of when I read the results, 27.4% have been smoking a pipe for 1-5 years and 16.4% in the last 6-10 years. The group that came in second claimed 30 years of pipe smoking at 24.9% with all other groups under 10%. What would be really interesting is correlating these results with birth year, age started and smoking frequency. When all is said and done perhaps folks, who do not think there has been an upswing in pipe smokers lately, might take another look. There is much to be said here. I am curious as to how this pans out.
PS This poll has a decent sample size. Though not as controlled as I would prefer, questioning the test's construction etc. , the survey should be of some interest if evaluated properly. Mike, did you only advertise the poll within the pipe communities and related webpages?
Note: The number of pipe smokers who started within the last year.

Late to the party, but completed. Interesting to see one respondent is 120 years old. The age demographic didn't display. Just a bunch of dates; no aggregation I could see. |
