Winter is slowly giving over to spring here in southern Virginia. Iβm taking some time this morning to enjoy the transformation with C&D Engine No.113 in The Doodler.

Good TGIF day, patchers. After a splendid breakfast of a cinnamon and raisin bagel, a small croissant, a carrot/walnut muffin and the bigga mugga java, now getting ready for the first official smoke of the day, a bowl of SWRA in the Edward's Smooth Billiard 704-S in Algerian briar.

Happy TGIF to those affected by the "work" disease! Back from 2-miles power walks, company of Quorum 6x50 (will DGT same later out on back porch). After the Ed is fed, '06 Blackpoint in Cavvichi C bent Dublin freehand & continue with the papers. Could be, or maybe not, 'nuther busy day depending on wife's various ills.
35, now drizzly rain

Owing to repeated lung and upper respiratory infections since November, I suspended pipe smoking some weeks ago. Now that my condition has improved some, I will continue to defer the pipe for the time being. This is why I have not posted on this thread. I still love you guys but my pipe smoking days might be behind me, at least for a time.

It would be a shame if you had to give it up but your health comes first. I'd still like to see you around even if you had to hang it up.

Enjoyed a couple of tasty cheese burgers and hand cut fries, and am a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2015 HU Directors Cut in a smooth straight Lane era Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. A bottle of Sprite is my drink. Almost time for Mad Dog Russo.

In addition to the respiratory infections, I have severe sleep apnea which I am trying to get under control. Smoking aggravates that problem, I am told.
I might be able to pick-up a pipe once or twice a day. I was at the point of almost always having one in my face puffing away. Perhaps I over did it. Moderation in all things, eh?
