Nowadays I split my time between Texas and Mexico.
However, I was born in St. Louis, grew up in the Missouri Bootheel, and most of my people have congregated around Springfield, MO.
Welcome aboard!

Welcome. I had no idea:
"There are a number of stories and legends behind Missouri's sobriquet "Show-Me" state. The slogan is not official, but is common throughout the state and is used on Missouri license plates.
The most widely known legend attributes the phrase to Missouri's U.S. Congressman Willard Duncan Vandiver, who served in the United States House of Representatives from 1897 to 1903. While a member of the U.S. House Committee on Naval Affairs, Vandiver attended an 1899 naval banquet in Philadelphia. In a speech there, he declared, "I come from a state that raises corn and cotton and cockleburs and Democrats, and frothy eloquence neither convinces nor satisfies me. I am from Missouri. You have got to show me." Regardless of whether Vandiver coined the phrase, it is certain that his speech helped to popularize the saying." Missouri Govt site.

If you're from the STL area there are two or three pipe clubs that you might be interested in. The St Louis Pipe Club is the group that puts on the St Louis Gateway pipe show every February and The Viking Pipe Club is a newer group. I don't know how active The Viking Pipe Club is but both clubs can be found on Facebook. I don't know anything about the third but I think they are based in western St Charles County I could dig for the pamphlet I got from them at the show if you're interested.

I lived in Jefferson County for a few years. It was a crazy place, but I loved it there.
