The upcoming raffle is not something I dreamed up to benefit anyone other than the winner, Sparks and the Briar Patch...and what I mean is he pays all the bills and we need to show our appreciation by helping defray those costs and that is why I suggested a raffle. A number of members offered their donations. . Having a raffle that is cheap enough that everyone can participate in...that is the goal of this exercise. Some are offering tobacco tins and bags, some are offering POY cobs as well as stained cobs, custom tampers and even a custom pipe from Cramps, for the second raffle to be held about 3 months from the first. THIS IS IMPORTANT:Use the on-line donation on the forum and select PayPal or Credit Card. In multiples of $5.00 (ie: $20.00 gives you 4 tickets) When you make your donation(s) be sure to include the words “contest donation” AND YOUR USERNAME, so that they know to include your name in the raffle. You may make as many $5.00 donations as you wish...or make it in terms of multiples of $5.00 (ie: $20.00 gives you 4 tickets) yes, I’ve said this twice, so it is clear. The more you donate the better your chance.
It will be noted so that you may have your name on several tickets giving you the chance to improve your winning. Paddy (Legend Lover) is doing the drawing and I believe it will be on video for you to watch.
Raffle starts now 3/21/2019 2:30PM EST and lasts until 4/06/2019 2:30PM EST
Here are the donations and what you can win in this the first raffle: 2 X 50grm. Tins of Dunhill Mix 965 1 set of 2017 POY cobs 1 X 2oz. tin of Penzance 1 X 50grm. bag of Motzek Strang Curlies 3 X custom stained cobs (style to be determined by donor) 3 X custom tampers 1 X stained saddle tan cob(style to be determined by donor 1 X custom tamper The donors names have been omitted until I find out if they want their names posted.
CONUS ONLY...SORRY OUT OF COUNTRY FOLKS Each person offering will have to mail the winner using USPS Tracking postage to guarantee that their “prize” is, in fact, coming to them. I have no affiliation with the Patch any different from you...I am just a member and like you I want this, our “home” to be strong and moving forward in the right direction and not leaving it all on Justin’s (Sparks) back. |

Yo Walt, I want to be part of this raffle and help Sparks pay some of the Patch bills. My social security check is deposited on the 4th. Can you extend the closing date to April 6th, to make sure I’m in👍👍👌. I’m definitely purchasing a few tickets, not to be a winner....already am being part of the Patch. My donation will help Justin keep this place going, which I’m sure he greatly appreciates your effort putting this raffle together.........well done Walt!!!!

I'm no one special by any means or reason, I'm just like everyone else here...trying to make the Patch continue on and helping Sparks pay some of the bills. Forums like this are usually sponsored with ads...ours isn't it is strictly by donation and when donations are low, Sparks (Justin) pays for it out of his pocket.
So the thanks goes to the guys and gals who donate to make this work...and Cramps making a pipe for the second raffle is just too good to believe...possibly some of the other "carvers" would like to get in on the action...nothing promotes your particular brand, better than for everyone to see it.
Those who may be interested in donating pipes, tobacco, accessories whatever may pm me so I can put you on the list for the second raffle to be held about 3 months from this one.

One last thing...please, if you see this thread heading down toward the bottom of the page..bump it. It is for our good that you do this. Thanks for your help in making this successful. |

Contest and Username is a “ Must “ when making your donation.
Use the link Jason aka Cramptholomew posted to make your “ donation “ to purchase raffle tickets.
The donation tab on the home page of the Patch shows on my iPad, NOT my iPhone.

Certainly, on the continuum of mistakes I've made, this one ranks both low and high; low impact for me, higher impact for the Patch as I made a second "proper" donation. Everyone's a winner!
