I'm on my fourth bowl of this in two days. I love this and waited until I got a decent cellar ration before I post this. After my PS EOS review it's been hard to buy.
Pouch note on this is like the inside of a recently taken off boot after a day of hunting in the Mohavi for the elusive Mojave Rattler. Now, let's be honest, fellas. Whether that is a good note or a bad note depends on whose show it is... right?
Three of my four smokes, including right now, were/are in a cob. The smoke in the Rossi Bent Pot didn't work out, but I think it clashed with dinner... Please note that.
This blend is not overtly sweet. If it did not say so, you would simply think it had a sauce... like EOS. Like EOS? This is on the road to Penzance! It's not out in the open as much as Penzance, but it is like a rider atop the magic carpet floating in your mouth. Gets better as the bowl goes down. This really could be an all day smoke.
This has all the best aspects of standard English. Nothing dominates. It's all blended, though I will say it has a decent amount of Lat.
Only going to give this a single star vote, not worrying about components. It's 5 of 5. I would suggest starting your experience in a cob, so you know what you have before you.
Major disclaimer: This may be one of those tobaccos that only a few people "Get". Maybe it just tickles my innards thusly. However, I now have enough in my cellar, so go for it... Children of the Leaf!

Nice review David. I just got some of this this past week and smoke it at least twice a day. You are right about the pouch note, it smells awful. If you can get past that you'll find a very nice smoke. My bag was dated 7-31-16 so it has some age on it. So far I enjoy it very much and will be ordering more soon.

Excellent review David, spot on with the funky maybe “ wet boot “ pouch aroma.....lol. But still a good smoke. I have some packed away back at my son’s. Before the end of Spring ALL of my belongings will be with me. Hopefully here in NC, but one never knows!
Oh, I prefer smoking C&D Sweet English over Penzance.....okay.....shoot me!!
At this point in my life I don’t want to move to Israel, but one day I may have no choice!

Oh, I prefer smoking C&D Sweet English over Penzance..\ I am sure I can go that far, but my pound of this and two of EOS, as well as English Luxury and Proper English keep me from paying jacked up prices for Esoterica.
Murray's and John Cotton keep me happy in tins, as does GLP. This beats the snot out of my Seventies Choices

EOS was a favorite of mine before your review I have a few pounds of Proper English too. Both are done well and, in my novice opinion, done right. I'll have to grab a few ounces of this, jar it up, and wait until my taste reverts back to English blends. These Va's / VaPers have a strong grip on me right now. P.S. you had me at the description of the boot

Whether that is a good note or a bad note depends on whose show it is... right? Great review David, and it makes me want to pick up a pouch! That is a very descriptive olfactory note - Id probably like it, but then again, I also enjoy stinky cheese so any "ripe" notes are cool with me.

Room note is full on burning leather and lumber. It hangs in the air... God help me! I love it so!

Great review, brother. I'm glad you like this tobacco, despite it's interesting pouch note.
Good to know not to judge a tobacco by its pouch note.

Great review and I am very intrigued by this one. You also had me at the boot description. I am a fan of PS EOS (had a bowl last night).
