It seems that every pipe forum and discussion board is full of people looking to acquire some super rare, hard to find tobacco release. And its not just Esoterica blends - I have seen the same craziness over Samuel Gawith, Rattrays, and Gawith Hoggarth releases as well. In my experience, there are readily available blends that are close to (or equal to) the "intentionally rare" versions. So what blends do you recommend in lieu of the hard-to-find tobaccos? Ill start.
Instead of Penzance, try Arango Balkan Supreme Instead of Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake, try MacBaren HH Pure Virginia Instead of Peacehaven, try Orlik Golden Slices

Great thread captblack. I think this will help many people. If you want to add an extra nuance...add a Z option for something similar that us over in the UK can get their hands on. I'm not expecting people to do this. Just wishful thinking.

Paddy, instead of wearing knickers, where men’s underwear 👍👍
Arango Balkan Supreme I much prefer over Penzance.

Instead of Frog Morton Cellar, try Sutliff Aromatic English.

Thought about one more while I was passing time in traffic yesterday:
Instead of Margate, try Boswell Northwoods
