It ain't limited to seniors. Right knee replacement, arthritis in the left, carpal tunnel in both wrists, left shoulder damage with a pinched nerve, a bone spur on my spine, and two ulcers. I'm 45. ...it isn't the age, it's the s*** that comes your way... I don't consider 71 to be that old, but it's the s*** that came my way... Amen brother.👍

Unfortunately, most of the sh!t that came my way I brought on myself. I never expected to live this long. I figured one of my hobbies would have killed me long before this, turns out, they just busted me up in sundry ways, for which I now suffer. I don't regret it though, I have, and am still enjoying life.

All my ailments are/were self induced...would I have changed it any if I had known better...probably not, cause stupid runs deep in my family

Early on in my career, I would arrive to a cold storage or meat plant and jump to the ground from my cabover tractor. An older guy came up to me and said “See that ladder on the side of the cab? It isn’t an ornamental fixture, use it and you will save your ankles, knees, hips, back and everything else... some day you will thank me” I thanked him on the spot.
I was raised to believe that older people sometimes have great advice, and I took his from that day. A few years ago, I saw a kid jump from the deck of a front end loader, I gave him the same speech.... I hope someday he will think back thankful that he was given advice that served him well.

Same here, I’ve been shot, exploded out of a control room, ran thru a fire wrapped in an asbestos blanket, was that or jump 5 stories off a furnace, survived prostate cancer, Heart bupass , fininical ruin, to come back swinging and wondering why me, lots of better and deserving people than me. Here I am 76; never thought I would see this.

In spite of it all it is amazing that for most people, the body is pretty resilient... I was thinking about the heart the other day, a muscle that never takes a rest, constantly pumping, it is amazing that they typically last as long as they do.
