Hey there! I go by Yoshi, and have been enjoying pipe tobacco for under 2 years but I have dove in deep this past year. I was previously a cigar smoker of 15+ years and have found that pipe smoking fits the niche of a mild to medium bodies smoke I found lacking in the cigar world. Now days I'm about 50/50 when I reach for something to smoke cigars or pipes, all depending on my mood.
Since beginning I had really fallen deeply in love with Dunhill's baccos and and deeply saddened by thier departure, however I have hoarded enough to keep me satiated for some time. Im currently sipping on some Dunhill 965 as I write this. I also unfortunately love Frog Morton Cellar and that's really the only thing from McClellands that I avidly seek, so when I reach eligibility to trade please save me some! Rounding out my top favorites are squadron leader and MacBarens plumcake. I never see plumcake get any love, which is cool by me, you'll find that sucker in my rotation regularly haha.
I have about 10 pipes total, a couple of cobs, a Dr. Grabow, and a few others. The shapes that truly speak to me are the elephants foot, pokers/cherry woods, and pickaxe. Currently smoking out of a pickaxe by Neerup.
Out of curiosity how many of you keep your pipe on the left side of your mouth and how many keep yours on your right side? I'm right handed but my pipe is almost always on my left side.
I look forward to learning, sharing info, and getting to know you all. As such I will offer my first pool of knowledge to the community. My local B&M in Culver City(Los Angeles County) California, Tobacco Trader has plenty of Dunhill tins. They are completely out of only night cap tins, but they have about a dozen EMP's left and tons of all the others. They also have 965, nightcap, and EMP bulk. There's also a few tins of Balkan Sobranie(almost bought them out but decided to leave it for y'all a few days ago), Dunbar, and Margate left. They take phone orders so don't be shy, they're wonderful people that have been accomidating to me and other online communities for quite some time now. I will say, though, do be prepared to pay California taxes and shipping on em. I don't think I'm allowed to yet, but I'd be more than happy to proxy for anyone.
Cheers fam!
