That have been stored in Rubbermaid containers for a few years. Cleaned, buffed, polished and sharpened 10 today. Took a few hours to be done properly. Below is a picture of two Damascus knives I made a number of years ago. They were stored well, no rustđź‘Ť They needed some tender loving care which included.....cleaning, buffing, polishing and sharpened using my Lansky System and ceramic sticks. Both were used in kitchen prep and those times I enjoyed camping. Thought id share a picture for you knife enthusiasts.........  |

Sweet Damascus, I had ordered some blanks from Jantz, I believe and had Blackhorse, you remember him, put some tiger maple scales on them. Wife won't touch them as they will cut you just for looking at them. I gave him this Randall, as I had no one at the time to give it to as an inheritance...if I had known you and AJ, it would have been different.  Now, I have these two plug knives that he made for me.   |

For you James....just one more. Not many members into knives. This is the Deer Knife, Gutting w/No Hook that I always carried when hunting. I made a separate Gut, Hook I much preferred. The handle scales I used a fiberglass resin and black & green construction paper......made my own Micarta. It’s messy, but make enough for other knives. One day I’ll post the knife I made from my own denim Micarta.  ![]() |

What steel did you use on this last one? I purchased a D2 steel billet, it’s a high carbon, high chromium tool steel. Resists rust, holds an edge well, fairly easy to heat treat and handles a Rockwell hardness of 62 with no issues. |

I sincerely regret you didn’t know me when you gifted the Randall knife to Blackhores as I would dearly love owning such a knife. I don't know a lot about knives but I know a good looking and well made one when I see them. I'd love to try and make one myself but don't have the patience. Very nice knives Ted.

Beautiful knives. I love sharp objects and you will never catch me without a knife.
My oldest son loves them just as much. His collection grows quic because I gave him most of my old ones.

He made this one for me to cut Plugs, handle is Gariffe Bone. Not as good as Teds knifes but he is improving.

Maybe a difference in experience, length of time in making knives, but the ones your son is making, OldCajun, look pretty good to me. That plug knife is a fine one..I know you are proud to use it and display it as well...great work, certainly he needs to keep on making them.

Walt, those kitchen prep knives look stunning, that blade steel will hold its edge quite well for a long period of time. Also, easy to re-sharpen when needed with ceramic sticks. Well doneđź‘Śđź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ť

Picked this up at KFC today. Didn't need to clean it or anything. Worked great!  Just wanted to post in this great thread. I am not into knives but from the looks of these I should be. |
