Last smoke of the evening...gotta hit the bed early to be up at 5AM to get our "baby" ready to go to the vet...teeth cleaned and radiographed several other things to get done...we'll stay with her until she is ready to be taken home when she has come out of the anesthesia...always worry about that and her age...but her vet is the best and good enough to work on me if need be...that is how much I trust him...he is family, like my mechanic for my truck...keep it all in the family...her vet in Ky is a school friend of the vet down here...keepin it all in the family.
Smoke is butternut burley in a stained cob....same as always.

Relaxing after a wonderful shrimp and green beans dinner with the last of mlady's chocolate chip mint ice cream for dessert. A quarter of the way through this bowl of Watch City 4th Nun Returns in a straight black sandblast late 1990s 2 star Ferndown Bark squashed pot with a tapered cumberland stem. Going to clean a few pipes.

HH Burley Flake in a Country Gentleman. Haven't smoked this stuff in, like, 8 months. It's certainly calmed down, or at least I have.

Just packed an MM with Sansepolcro.
What a thing of beauty. The blend, sure- but I meant the pipe. Haha
The stem is wilted and bent severely to the side. Loose in the mortise. Stained to a shade of Amber just shy of opaque. The grain is full of dirt from my hands as I suspect I was smoking this the week my friends and I dug the sewage/electrical lines at camp. The rim is pure black- testament to the bowls that were packed and lit without a care. Better yet is when I popped it into my mouth and it settled into place. Perfect pit worn into the stem so that it seats perfectly on a canine.
I challenge anyone to find an item more intimately in-tune with their lives than a good old cob.
Just saying 'Hi' fellas. Stuff to do on the morrow. Headed to bed soon.
Long Days and Pleasant Smokes,
-Justin
