Howard the Duck? Too soon. Released in 1986 (per IMDB, my memory ain't that good), or I'm missing something? Nope. Just that as long as I live is too soon to talk about that movie.

Many ranked "Plan 9 from Outer Space" the worst ever. Wouldn't know, didn't see it

...they're just movies... it doesn't have to be "great cinema" for me to enjoy it... also, just because everyone else liked it doesn't mean I will... "The English Patient" comes to mind... most people I talked to loved it, yet I thought it was boring as hell... Yeah, I like The English Patient. Another one like this is Out of Africa. People seem to either like it or hate it. I like it. Perfect example of "One man's meat..." I really hated that picture. Hollywood? What Hollywood. None of the major studios was ever located in Hollywood. When people use the word "Hollywood" in any sort of screed, I know that they are completely clueless. Because it's not some monolith. It's a lot of individual endeavors by a lot of individuals with wildly different personalities, tastes, backgrounds, ways of getting their project made, and on, and on. And if you're looking for some sort of accuracy, you may occasionally find it in a documentary, but most product is entertainment. And if people didn't enjoy consuming that product it wouldn't be made. A film maker isn't going to give a crap about whether everything is accurate. And by and large, the audience doesn't care either. It's more about entertainment, compelling visuals, and what constitutes that differs widely. Want to talk about a crappy film maker? How about Zack Snyder? He's Cecil B DeMille without taste or talent. Sucker Punch may be the most aptly name movie of all time. A total piece of crap, two hours of my life span that I will never get back. And what Snyder gets put in charge of the DC based films, filling them with joyless emptiness. At least Warners finally pulled the plug on him. But there are a lot of very smart talented people putting out a lot of very smart entertainment. So go enjoy the good stuff, because there's no shortage. And if you disagree, prove me wrong by knocking my socks off with your brilliant creativity.

Howard the Duck is not near as bad as The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.

Have to a tie between Willow and Dune. Willow might edge it out. Dune has some of the worst acting and disjointed scripts. A real abomination to the book People always say that, but I don't know how to make a better movie from that book. Some things just don't translate. I read the book and enjoyed the movie, but they are different things. There was another version, a lower budget Dune miniseries (SciFi channel). It missed the mark though it was truer to the book than the space Opera/steam punk Raffaella De Laurentiis production. Apparently a new version is coming to the big screen. The first of two movies, covering the story Dune, is advertised to be released in 2020.

Here is another candidate for the worst movie ever: "First Man in Space", 1958, with Marshall Thompson.'50s Space epics were often low budget and poorly set up but this is a new low in consequential thinking. As the title indicates, early space flight. This time a rocket plane lifted by a USAF B-29 under the direction of officers in the US Navy for some reason never explained. The costuming was mighty odd with enlisted personnel wearing wool caps from early WWII and webbed M1 clip belts but no rifles issued. Then there was the poor slob in the monster suit which looked like someone dumped a bucket of roof tar on him. This is one to miss.

The early westerns were pretty funny.
It seems that the propellants they had were so weak that they had to use the same motion as cracking a whip to give the round a little more oomph!

About a month or so ago, my wife and I watched a trailer for Pom's
The wife and looked at each other and came to the same conclusion...watching a bunch of old women follow their dreams and become the cheerleaders they never were as girls is really dumb. The demographics of people that would want to watch it are old spinster types.
Angelica Huston made a critical comment about the movie and it sure pissed a lot of the old biddies off.

Yep, tired of old Stars making big bucks, squandering it, and trying to sell us crap to boost their piggy bank. Dumb Movies, Dumb Mortage schemes, they really think most of America are idiots.

I guess no one's seen "The Postman". I've watched it countless times, just to marvel at the sheer relentless utter failure of a film it is. It's 3 hours long. 3 LONG hours. The dialogue couldn't be worse. Dramatwist, you may lose your mind it's so bad. No one mentioned and John Waters, or Russ Meyer movies. I'm surprised. Peter Jackson's first film "Bad Taste" is supremely awful as well, buy it's supposed to be.

I present to you, The Van: McWiggins can attest to it's excellence in horrendousness. "Mag wheels, four!" As opposed to only three right? lol Oh this movie is quite a thing. If it helps persuade anyone into watching this, a young Danny DeVito plays a great character. He alone is worth it.

Ed Wood's Plan 9 From Outer Space is generally regarded as the worst movie ever made. It's so bad that I bought the DVD. It was also Bela Lugosi's last movie. In fact, he died midway through the filming so Ed Wood donned the cape Bela wore in the movie and just walked around with the cape hiding his face. So bad it's delicious. www.imdb.com/title/tt0052077/I totally understand this comment but , that was 1 of Ed Wood's 'best' movies ... Have you seen [any of] his others !!?! I have a few ... lol

Being truer to the book doesn't make a better movie, only one that only fanatics will like. As for my expectations for this, I have already commented above.(Hint: it will suck.)

The Blob, The Thing and that entire genre helped the Duck and Cover generation to take their minds off Nuclear Annihilation.
