A while back I had purchased this Bentley pipe lighter on ebay. I had read differing opinions on the 'net about being able to refill the tank on these: Turns out my experiment failed. I couldn't fill the tank. I have also in the past bought a couple of these Honest lighters that actually perform pretty well but I don't much care for their appearance: You're starting to see where this is going, right? After removing the workings of the Bentley I was able to insert the Honest lighter and it fits like a glove! It's flat and chrome-y on the front side: But rounded and leather-y on the back side: I think it's friendlier to operate with the rounded profile and I usually operate it with my index finger. Like so: Just thought I'd share another of my wacky projects. It's an interesting tactile experience and functional too!

I've got a Beattie jet lighter...got it in a trade and am very happy with it...but it is slick in the hand and so kinda hard to handle, put some Winn Rod Wrap (used on fishing rods) to have a better grip on it...worked so good I put some on my Zippo, too.

I love that you were able to put those together. I hope it lasts for a long time.

Might be fun to restore old lighters, though I would imagine that it's hard to find parts for some lighters that are not made anymore. I've known couple of folks that have tried and given up. I'm glad that booknpipe was able to get his working.
