GLP Temple Bar dated 7/2016 Pipe of choice: restored LaStrada handmade/carved Chubby Pot. An excellent smoker, love my Chubby Pots, especially Weber and LHS👍👍 Hey Ted! I have about 7 or 8 tins of Temple Bar, that I had to replace a couple years ago. They are also 2016, but can't remember the month. The first batch I bought became moldy, so I returned them for replacements at SP. SP didn't have a problem at all. But, I still haven't opened any of the tins since that time. Have you opened more than one tin of Temple Bar? Have you had mold issues with this blend? I love this one (from my faded two year memory, anyway). Thanks for reading and for your response.

headrott.........I have about 7 or 8 tins of Temple Bar, that I had to replace a couple years ago. Hi Greg, I too had mold in the first and second batch of Temple Bar. To save $$ the blender chose to change the anti-fungal agent that worked well for years. Supposedly after 6/2016 they switched back to their original way of blending, so I was told on a lengthy phone conversation with Chip...May he R.I.P. The first 10 tins I sent back, they paid return shipping. The second batch after in my cellar for under 2 months the tins swelled like a “ baseball “, not your normal slight puffing of a tin that’s aging properly. I opened ALL 10 tins and sent Smokingpipes a few pictures of the severe mold. I was told to dispose and another batch with the original anti-fungal agent was going to be shipped within a week, as it was👍👍👍. Also, for your own edification: I was told on the phone and in an email I saved, as long as Smokingpipes is in business and ANY mold shows up in “ their sealed tins “ they will make good on the tobacco. If it’s no longer available I would be given full credit for future purchases. The last 2 tins I opened were from 7/2016 and not overly swollen. I now check twice a month on ALL of my C&D and GLP tobacco’s for extremely swollen tins. I’ve had mold issues with a few GLP’s as well. The mold was in tins with dates 4/2016 and prior, check your dates. If your tinned tobacco’s roll on the floor like a ball I “ garontee “ there is a mold issue. Some may say why not jar immediately if a particular blend is notorious for mold, Smokingpipes will ONLY make good on their “ original “ sealed tins. For if jarred improperly they can not be held responsible for mold. So, keep an eye on your tins.......GOOD LUCK!!!

Just smoked a tiny bit of what Ashdigger sent me...War Horse Bar from the 60's...was such a tiny bit I thought...this isn't enough to try...shaved a little and put it in my tiny paneled pipe...three puffs and I was headed for the A/C...like to stand in front of it sweating. WOW!! Flavor a little like the old Condor. Those boys had some cast iron lungs to smoke a bowl of this.
