Maybe they'll make a movie about you! The Horse Tamer! You've heard of a "Horse Whisperer"? They call me the "horse growler", cuz' my voice sounds like a mean old dog in a deep well. It wouldnt play too well on the silver screen. πππ³π

Started workin' my new mountain packin' horse today. Will started her up to this point, now I'll take her in hand and make a horse of her. She's only 3 years old, and was only started under saddle this summer. I think she's gonna be a good 'un.

We got a new horse in today to tune up for a week. I know the owner, he's a very nice, novice rider of about 60 years old, and this is WAY too much horse for him. We're going to tune her up for him, but Im already pretty sure she's still not going to be a good fit. He wants a quiet, gentle, meek horse he can trail ride on and not worry about getting hurt. This is NOT that horse. He and I have discussed that possibility, and if that's how it turns out, he's going to sell her. Ive already told him that if she comes up for sale, she wont be leaving this ranch. I really, really want this mare. π

Can't imagine the joy and pride you have, Bigwoolie...you have a son and family, any one of us would be proud of calling our own.
As an old man with more than my share of mistakes made in life, I really enjoy seeing your pictures and sharing your stories about your life and times that you have had. Like oldcajun, please keep them coming...they are like life-blood for many of us.

Thanks for the link....wife and I don't do facebook as we have seen way to many problems involved in being on that particular site. BUT, I was able to see some of it, and will until they tell me that I have to "log on".

Im trying to expand my training into media, and Im just stumbling through and figuring stuff out as I go. My equipment is my 120.00 phone, so Im aware of its limitations, but I would appreciate any feedback on the presentation itself of these videos. My wife wants me to open a youtube channel and start doing these videos regular. I dunno. Any thoughts? /

Thanks for the video...really interesting how you do what you do...it came across very well....clear and hearing you explain what you are doing...perfect, really...not just a pat on the back or an attaboy...very clear in why you are doing what you are doing.

Your 2nd video re: why you got into horses....again, perfect...just like with dogs (for me, at least)...if you can't have fun and enjoy your life with your dog...why have one.
Everything you said, in my opinion, was exactly what needed to be said about having an animal sharing your life with you.
Thanks, Dewayne, really, you are one special man and I thank you for sharing your life with us.

I find that with every video of you and your life...I wish that I lived closer to where you are. Your advice and wisdom is so rare, that I, personally, enjoy everything that comes out of your mouth....and by my comment about living closer to where you are...I would enjoy being part of your small congregation. You are a lot like our brother Andre (Legend Lover)...a truly good man.
Your advice about recognizing where your head is at before doing more harm than good, is a good lesson to learn about life.

Them videos are very well done, Dewayne.
As for YouTube, so many videos I look at, I immediately move on. No clear train of thought, ramblings, um... uhhh, loses me quickly. If you do the YouTube route, decide wether or not to enable comments. Enabling them, allows civil adults to have adult conversations and I think helps a channel.
Conversely, a few knuckleheads that decide they donβt like your philosophical position, post and flame from momβs basement while they are in their underwear. You then have to ride herd on the channel and block them.
I think that the few videos you posted, offer great value to the community, and I think that your sage advice would be well received.
