Edward G. Robinson Blend in an Il Ceppo Dublin. How are you liking the blend? Not far from finishing this bow of Jim's VaPer in a 2003 medium bent straight grain Two dot 2 P. Ardor Venere Extra Bucaneve with a silver ferrule signed by Dorelio Rovera and a black acrylic stem. Almost time for dinner.

This thread has become a treasure trove of personal smoke preferences, pipes, slice of life jounaling, and high culture. So glad to see that it has evolved this way from mere graffiti hit & run smoke-only updates. Just another reason, among many, that The Briar Patch forum ranks a cut above. D&R TAPS VIP w/NPR radio, Riker by my side in the garden, and a cold IBC Root Beer. I tried to do more at several forums in my smoking posts, and saw they were mostly ignored, so I limit what I say for groups that are interested.

Now smoking the best durn tobacco ever made: year 2001 VaPer Three Nuns in the first pipe Trever Talbot made when he went to France many years ago. It's a smooth straight Algerian briar Billiard bowl with a long Canadian stem, unbranded. Ice water and bergs is my evening drink.

Prince Albert with an IBC Root Beer watching the boob tube... just got back from a moonless lunt with Riker, sans moonlight he's still the ultimate bush detective nonetheless. Radio & Jupiter (my feline soul mates) finished their home cooked dinner and are content to watch tv with Riker & I as we aim to retire for the evening. Not looking for my return to work tomorrow, but 'se la vie'.

Had rain seven days in a row. Expecting 3-4" more over the next seven. Smoking Hearth and Home Magnum Opus in a 1996 1/4 bent straight grain J.M. Boswell freehand. Hadn't had this one in a while. Moisture content is still quite good after some time in a flip top. Drinking decaf ice green tea with lemon and watching Frazier on COZI TV before bed.

I am sensing a minimalistic push back... I am no longer a member of the other forum that will remain unnamed, but hostility will not be tolerated in any iteration. Respect YOUR membership.

Hi Dan, I get a bit obsessed with new stuff , that is not to everyone's taste, but " back stabbing " is nasty , whatever the environment, so here's to fun & fellowship, whether farm or city, whether cob, briar, pear or metal, I enjoy the virtual company of all on the forums, but not everyone reciprocates, Good health, as long as all is in order, 😀 cheers, troost, skol, slainte , Iechyd da ! PS, I suppose I should keep some of my comments PM, but it is a new media for an old codger like me, so excuse me if I go out of bounds at times to some people's taste, it is an international forum , and I am perhaps insensitive to others cultural differences at times, discretion is the better part of valour. So I will restrain my louder posts, and lower the tone for a better balance perhaps. We all want to feel comfortable with our different time restraints etc. (?)

Hi Jim , I respect anybody that knows what they are talking about & is willing to spend time on those less experienced & knowledgeable, & I really appreciate the wisdom of your reviews Jim, & hope to learn from the pipe lore of yourself & other experts, dare I say, that spend the time to spread the word, thanks for your patience from myself a newbie & amateur, in the hobby of piping though a long time casual piper, see Y'All.

I also like Hansen's Creamy Root Beer made with pure cane sugar.

Thank you for the very kind words. I've been editing and rewriting all my early reviews as I feel I am better at it now. I'm almost finished doing that. It's taken quite a bit of time, but I felt my work would be more helpful to others if I brought the earlier ones up to my current standard. I think I've improved quite a bit since I started. I sure have tried to do that.

Hi, I never tasted root beer until I came across it in a McDonald's many years ago, but they do not sell it now it seems, over here, but a favourite drink my Gran used to make & share with us as kids was Ginger beer, I cannot find commercial ginger beer to match those childhood drinks, (non alcoholic of course) bye.

HI, I used to like cream soda fizzy lemonade as a kid, possibly not quite the same as in the States over here, we would buy from local shops, after playing ball in the hot summers, and put vanilla ice cream in a glass with the cream soda, which creates a delicious, rich cream fizzy like drink, unless you have tried it you would not appreciate it, but white birch beer is a new one, bye.

Gale force winds continue unabated on the West Coast of the Dark Continent. Pippin and Frankie have not had much exercise because of the wind, so this morning it was a WWE match all over the furniture. Frankie won this round..
Peter Heinrichs Special Curly in a straight MM Legend (not half bad in a cob - this was my first try) for breakfast. Instant coffee on the side.
